Amanda McClelland has more than 15 years' experience in international public health management. Anthony Brown joins Resolve to Save Lives as Vice President, Legal. Anthony will oversee the legal function, advising the Senior Management Team and the Board of Directors on organizational strategy, operations, and other matters with legal implications. Anthony is an attorney and business professional with more than 20 years' experience advising global public health organizations and international NGOs and businesses. Throughout his legal career, Anthony has focused on being a business partner to the teams he supports, not only identifying legal risks but also seeking to unlock issues and propose solutions. Before joining Resolve to Save Lives, Anthony was with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance for 15 years. As Senior Legal Counsel he assisted with the set up and implementation of innovative financing initiatives, was responsible for negotiations on funding agreements with corporations, governments and foundations, and provided legal advice on the provision of funding to implementing organizations and countries. He also supported the development of numerous policies and procedures to address risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Most recently, Anthony was the lead attorney on the design and set up of COVAX, a global collaboration aimed at accelerating access to COVID-19 vaccines. Anthony received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, his M.B.A. from the Wharton School and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Columbia University. He enjoys reading and writing (or trying to write) literary fiction and science fiction. He also enjoys watching and competing (or trying to compete) in tennis tournaments. Anthony is an avid lifelong learner, as it seems as if he's been trying to learn Spanish and French nearly his entire life. After 10 years in Switzerland and France, he has just moved back to the US with his adorable 2-year-old son, Julian. Anthony is based in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Andrew Moran is a program director, researcher and a general practice physician. Dr. Moran's chief interests are in hypertension control and cardiovascular disease prevention, with a particular focus on prevention in low- and middle-income countries. Dr. Moran is Director, Global Hypertension Control, at Resolve to Save Lives where he supports expansion of systematic hypertension control programs in 31 low- and middle-income countries. In this role, he provides clinical, technical and logistics support to in-country partners implementing hypertension control programs. At Columbia University, Dr. Moran leads predictive modeling and economic analyses of major clinical trials, including the landmark SPRINT trial of intensive blood pressure treatment, and the Los Angeles Barber-Pharmacist blood pressure lowering trial, which tested a barber-pharmacist collaboration to treat hypertension in African American men visiting barbershops in Los Angeles, California. He is also leading research projects related to national cardiovascular disease prevention policies, including early prevention in young adults and the optimal approach to screening and treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia (one of three Tier 1 genomic conditions). Dr. Moran led the global burden of ischemic heart disease analysis for the Global Burden of Disease 2010 Study and the cardiovascular disease clinical care quality section of the Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries, third edition (DCP3) project. He served on the 2021 hypertension guideline development group at the World Health Organization and serves on the board of the World Hypertension League.

Christopher Lee is a medical epidemiologist and the Director of Global Preparedness and Response at Resolve to Save Lives. Christopher Lee is a medical epidemiologist and the Director of Global Preparedness and Response at Resolve to Save Lives. In his role, he oversees workstreams on strengthening health security systems, early detection and response, and the protection of health care workers and essential health services for epidemic resilience. Dr. Lee also provides direct technical assistance and consultancies to national public health institute leadership and to global organizations on strategy and planning. He is a global expert in health security preparedness frameworks and infectious disease epidemiology, with a specific focus on implementation of surveillance and response systems' functions in the African context. Prior to joining Resolve to Save Lives, Dr. Lee served as medical officer in the Global Immunization Division at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer assigned to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Dr. Lee previously worked on migration health, human trafficking, and emergency response for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Uganda, Haiti, and throughout Southeast Asia. Dr. Lee earned his Medical Degree magna cum laude at Harvard Medical School. He holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a Master of Science in Forced Migration from the University of Oxford, and Bachelor of Science(Hon) in Neuroscience from McGill University. Through direct support and capacity building, EIU focuses on leveraging data and systems to better prepare for and respond to epidemics. Prior to pursuing a career in public health, Eric built a strong foundation in technology, working in software companies for 10 years. He then shifted his focus to public health, working for various organizations including the CDC and WHO. Prior to joining Resolve To Save Lives, Eric worked at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for 13 years, where he established and led the Informatics team which focused on optimizing data use for the Foundation. Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University, a Master of Health Science in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins, and a Doctor of Science in Public Health from Tulane. Eric is based in Washington, DC, and is happiest when he's watching any of his 3 children play sports.

Farzad Mostashari, MD, ScM is the CEO of Aledade, a start-up he co-founded aimed at helping primary care doctors transform their practices and form accountable care organizations (ACOs). Dr. Mostashari is the former National Coordinator for Health IT at the Department of Health and Human Services and served as a distinguished expert at the Brookings Institute's Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform. Prior to his work at the Office of the National Coordinator, he founded the NYC Primary Care Information Project, which equipped 1,500 physicians in underserved communities with electronic health records. Dr. Mostashari received his MD from Yale University School of Medicine and his Masters in Population Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Indu Bhushan

Dr. Indu Bhushan served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Health Authority (NHA) and Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB - PMJAY), a flagship health assurance scheme of the Government of India covering more than 500 million citizens from April 2018 to January 2021. As CEO, he led the design, development and the rollout of the scheme and oversaw its implementation in the country. Dr. Bhushan is an ex-Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer (1983 batch, Rajasthan cadre). He holds a PhD in Health Economics and a Master of Health Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University, USA. Until his appointment as CEO, AB - PMJAY, he served as Director General, East Asia Department of ADB. He has held multiple positions within ADB including Director General, Strategy and Policy Department and has led ADB's engagement with several Asian economies including the People's Republic of China. He administered and provided oversight to sectors like energy, environment, natural resources and agriculture, transport, public management, financial and regional cooperation and urban and social development. Laura Cobb is the Director of Nutrition Policy and Surveillance at Resolve to Save Lives, where her work primarily focuses on developing and implementing nutrition policies that prevent cardiovascular disease - in particular, eliminating trans fat from the global food supply and reducing sodium intake. Prior to joining RTSL, she served as a Senior Technical Advisor for Data Impact at Vital Strategies. In that role, she provided technical assistance to the Ministries of Health of Tanzania and Malawi, and the municipal governments of Shanghai and Mumbai on how to improve their use of data for decision-making. Dr. Cobb received her doctorate in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she focused on cardiovascular epidemiology. Prior to her doctorate, she worked at the New York City Department of Health where she managed the restaurant component of the National Salt Reduction Initiative (NSRI). Dr. Cobb has extensive experience in global health and has worked in Vietnam, at the Hanoi office of the U.S. CDC, and in Namibia, where as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer she worked on HIV prevention within the Namibian Ministry of Education.

Dr. Marci Nielsen

Dr. Marci Nielsen has joined Resolve's Office of the President as Vice President for Policy and Advocacy. She will work closely with our leadership and global partnerships, helping to translate evidence and practical experience into policy and advocacy strategies that target U.S. and global decisionmakers, promoting evidence-based guidance and tools, mobilizing funding to sustain effective epidemic preparedness and cardiovascular health efforts, and strengthening public health capacity globally. Marci is a health policy expert and advocate with three decades of experience. She recently served as chief advisor for COVID-19 coordination for Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, helping lead the testing strategy and vaccine roll-out. In prior roles, Marci served as: Vice President of Policy & Strategy for the non-profit Government Employee Health Association; CEO and President of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative in Washington DC a non-profit member association dedicated to promoting primary care; and Executive Director of the Kansas Health Policy Authority under Governor Kathleen Sebelius, leading a $2 billion agency. She subsequently served as Vice Chancellor of Public Affairs at the University of Kansas Medical Center and also served on the faculty. Marci spent ten years in Washington D.C., serving as a legislative assistant for US Senator Bob Kerrey, and as a public health researcher tracking opportunistic infections in those with HIV/AIDS and exploring the relationship between health and poverty. She received her PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, an MPH in international health from George Washington University, and served in the US Army Reserve and the Peace Corps in Thailand.

Margaret (Peggy) Hamburg is an internationally recognized leader in science, medicine, and public health. She is currently serving as VP (interim) for Global Biological Programs and Policy, Nuclear Threat Initiative. Dr. Hamburg is immediate past Chair/President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and just completed a term as Foreign Secretary, National Academy of Medicine. She served as the 21st Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from May 2009 to April 2015. Her public service also included her experience as Assistant Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, then six years as Commissioner of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In 1997, she was appointed Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, until 2001, when she served as founding Vice President for Biological Programs and later Senior Scientist for the Nuclear Threat Initiative, a foundation dedicated to reducing the threat to public safety from nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. In that role, she spearheaded efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to both naturally occurring and deliberately caused biological threats. Dr. Hamburg serves on a variety of boards, including the GAVI Alliance, Commonwealth Fund, the Simons Foundation, Ending Pandemics, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Nature Conservancy, the American Museum of Natural History, the Lasker Foundation, the Urban Institute, and Alnylam Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Renu Garg

Dr. Garg is a public health specialist with more than three decades of experience supporting implementation of large-scale public health programs in low- and middle-income countries. She joins Resolve to Save Lives after serving as WHO Representative for Thailand and as a WHO Team Leader for Noncommunicable Diseases. In these roles, she oversaw WHO's programs and supported the government and civil society partners to improve access to effective hypertension treatment, develop policies for sodium reduction, eliminate artificial trans fat, curb tobacco use, combat childhood obesity, and accelerate, COVID-19 vaccination. Previously she has worked at WHO SEARO, US CDC, and at public health institutions in India covering a range of health programs including noncommunicable diseases, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and child survival. Renu served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at US CDC from 1997-1999. She received her medical and public health degrees from Mumbai University, India and Master of Public Health from Emory University, Atlanta. Dr. Tom Frieden served as Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Commissioner of the New York City Health Department. His work made New York City's tuberculosis control program and overall health department models for the world, established effective programs in India, and improved morale, effectiveness, and impact at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Tom Frieden's influential publications have identified the what, how and why of action to improve health. Dr. Tom Frieden is a physician with advanced training in internal medicine, infectious disease, public health, and epidemiology. Over the past 25 years: As Director, led the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) work that ended the Ebola epidemic, launched initiative that will prevent 500,000 heart attacks and strokes, sounded the alarm and accelerated progress addressing the epidemic of opioid use, and increased effective action on the front lines to find and fight winnable battles and protect and improve health in the United States and around the world (2009-2017). As the first Director of International Health Programs of Bloomberg Philanthropies, designed and launched the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use, a program that has prevented more than 35 million deaths around the world (2006-2009, pro bono). As Health Commissioner, led health transformation in New York City, increasing life expectancy by 3 years, preventing more than 100,000 deaths from smoking, and spurring national and global action on, among other areas, better epidemiologic understanding and control of public health problems including HIV, tobacco control, nutrition, as well as the integration of health care and public health. Reorganized to increase revenues and optimize health impact (2002-2009). Erin also served as team lead of CDC's strategic media and communications team. Prior to joining CDC, Erin was a medical producer for NBC News Channel, the affiliate feed service for NBC News. Jeannie Mantopoulos is the Chief Operating Officer for Resolve to Save Lives. In this role, she provides leadership and management to promote operational excellence in Resolve's two components: Cardiovascular Health and Prevent Epidemics. Jeannie is a global public health professional with over 15 years of management experience developing strategy, cultivating strong partnerships, and leading programs that are practical, evidence-based, and tailored to specific needs. Prior to joining Resolve to Save Lives, Jeannie served as Director of Programs for Yale University's Global Health Leadership Institute, where she was responsible for managing a large global team, grant development, program design, and leading implementation of the institute's global health initiatives in Africa, Asia, UK, and the US. Jeannie led the establishment of Yale University's first country office for field operations and oversaw leadership programs that trained mid- and senior level health professionals in over 20 countries, including the first Masters degree program in healthcare administration in Africa (at Jimma University, Ethiopia). Jeannie maintains a lectureship appointment with the Yale School of Public Health and is an International Advisory Committee Member for World of Children.
