SWITCH PACKAGING SPECIALISTS - Key Persons
I work alongside Scott and Laura in helping with the fulfillment of orders. Having recently joined the team, I feel completely at home. We have a great team here and the individuals are certainly the driving force behind the success of Switch. I am a family man with a newborn baby and two dogs who take up a lot of mine, and my girlfriend's time. When I manage to, I enjoy winning at darts (well, most of the time) and partaking in my new hobby of motorbiking!
Here we want to remember and celebrate the special life of Gary Thomas, the founder of Switch. Those lucky to have met Gary, would agree that he was a positive and inspirational individual, always supporting and encouraging our team with new and exciting ways to build a better future.
I'm the Technical Manager at Switch Packaging, covering everything "Technical", from specifications, designs, sampling and print. I have been in the packaging industry for over 25 years and enjoy putting my knowledge to the test with intricate and complex designs. If you're still with me after reading that compulsory blurb, rather sadly I do enjoy designing and developing new and varied products to fit our customer's needs, as well as supporting all of the guys at Switch with a thorough technical backup having been here for an eternity.
Outside of Switch, I'm a busy family man, spending time with my wife, our two young sons, a crazy but loving Beagle and a solemn Dachshund. I still maintain the best way to settle an argument is Rock, Paper, Scissors. Unless the kids cheat!
My role at Switch involves supporting the fulfillment side of the business, on a part-time basis. My responsibilities include preparing orders and ensuring processes are running smoothly. It is great to be part of such a close-knit and friendly team! Outside of Switch, I love spending time at the gym keeping fit and spending time with my close friends and family.

I am the Sales and Commercial Director of Switch, responsible for driving the business forward by exploring the best opportunities for continued growth. I am always striving to do more and looking for ways Switch can yet be more sustainable for our existing clients, future clients, and for the Switchers. I bring with me a wealth of knowledge in the packaging industry, in improving packing lines and progressing supply chains through innovative designs and ideas. I am very proud to be a part of a team that always puts the client and the environment first.
At home, I have three children, (well two of them are adult children as I like to remind them) and my better half Julie (she likes to remind me that she is my better half, and this I can't argue). I am also training for my second marathon next year of which I am looking forward to as I am running on behalf of the NSPCC.
Rob Neale - Managing Director
Having worked closely with my father Gary, the founder of Switch, for a number of years, unfortunately he passed away in June 2020. Now heading up the second-generation of Switch as the Managing Director, I am involved in the day-to-day running of the business and ensuring all clients are looked after. Leading with the passion and vision that Switch was built on to remove plastic and polystyrene from the environment for good. Whilst never able to replace Gary, I bring a fresh and enthusiastic outlook in making Switch the go-to sustainable packaging design consultancy.
My favourite time of year is definitely the summer where I love playing MasterChef on the BBQ. During the winter months, you will most probably find me tucked away at home spending time with my wife in front of the fire with a glass of wine or a gin and tonic.
I am involved with the fulfillment part of the business, processing and preparing orders as they come in. Switch uphold a great reputation for efficiently delivering to the needs of the customer and I am proud to be contributing to this. When away from work I enjoy spending time outdoors socialising and being involved with any sporting activity! Whether that be fishing, motorbiking or something else, I love being outside and making the most of our countryside!
I am very proud of being a Switcher and enjoy seeing the team continue the legacy and passion for the business following the passing of my Husband Gary who started Switch.
In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy keeping fit by doing Zumba and Yoga classes.
I am the proud owner of a horse called Tosca, Dicky the donkey and Mitten the Cat, they are all very mischievous and keep me very busy. I love to be out in the countryside which is where my passion for the environment comes from.

I work as a Business Development Consultant at Switch Packaging and I am very proud to be a part of a company that makes you feel valued and respected as an employee. I am excited for what is to come and to help grow Switch with new opportunities, whilst maintaining relationships with our loyal and existing customer base. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and I am surrounded by a fantastic team.
Outside of Switch I absolutely love being outdoors and working out. This is something I have been passionate about since I can remember and I am hoping to compete very soon. On the other hand, I do also love having a lazy day eating cake, which a lot of my close family and friends know me for!
