TARGET AUTISM TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY - Key Persons


Angela Capper

Angela Capper has worked in schools of all phases for over 15 years supporting children and young people on the Autism Spectrum; formerly as a Specialist Practitioner with the Northamptonshire County Council's Autistic Spectrum Team. She has a wide experience of working directly with children and adults, delivering training and helping professionals to overcome barriers to achievement and inclusion. She was the co-editor of Social Scripts for the Home, a CD resource developed for parents of children with ASD. Angela is also the parent of a teenager on the autism spectrum. Ron and Angela have trained in many approaches relevant to autism including: 5 day TEACCH, Social Stories, Protective Behaviours, Social Thinking, SCERTS, PECS, Solution Focus, Comic Strip Conversations and Team Teach. They are both qualified to administer the ADOS assessment tool. Training settings have included parent groups, schools, adult care homes, transportation services, universities, national conferences and local authority services.

Ron Fortuna

Ron Fortuna formerly worked as an advisory teacher for Northamptonshire County Council's Autistic Spectrum Team. He founded the Designated Special Provision for autism at Caroline Chisholm School. Ron has over 20 years experience teaching, training and supporting staff and young people in both mainstream and specialist settings, and has an MA in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion. He has been an Associate Lecturer for the University of Northampton and was a contributing author to Supporting Pupils on the Autism Spectrum: Whole-school training materials and resources for Sencos by Optimus Publishing (Chapters 5,6,7 and 8).
