She has been a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the National LGBT Bar Association, and the American Civil Liberties Union. ​​She is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University (B.S., M.A.) and Quinnipiac University School of Law (J.D.). She has been named to Cambridge Who's Who and has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Hamden/North Haven YMCA.
