The St. Joseph Curling club was formed in the summer of 2012 when two sets of curling stones, along with all other equipment needed for 4 sheets of ice were purchased by Missouri Western State University. This included 32 Brooms, 8 Hacks, 10 sliders and a pebble. The first curling events were held on August 17 and 18 of 2012. After a successful fall season with many new participants, the second two sets of stones were purchased, giving the club the full four sets needed for participation at Bode Ice Arena.
