Chris Morton is the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for the American Land Title Association (ALTA) a national trade association representing title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers and real estate attorneys who protect real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles. A member of the organization's Executive Team, Morton leads ALTA's policy development, political engagement and lobbying strategy. Working closely with senior leaders across the association and industry who engage in coalitions, campaigns and strategic communications, his goal is to promote and enhance the title industry's role in protecting consumers in the efficient and secure transfer of real estate.
A seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services arena, Morton has demonstrated success in numerous legislative and regulatory affairs leadership roles.
Prior to joining ALTA, he served as Executive Vice President, Government Affairs and Business Strategy at the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU), acting as a principal liaison to Congress on behalf of the nation's top life insurance producers and distribution partners.
During his time at AALU, Morton led a team that achieved numerous advocacy wins on behalf of the life insurance profession and industry, having an influential role in major legislative undertakings, such as the Dodd Frank Act, Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and SECURE Act, a major retirement security initiative, among others.
Previously, he was a senior analyst and advisor in the Business Strategy Group at Fannie Mae. In this role, Morton was responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the company's senior executives on a broad array of public policy challenges affecting Fannie Mae's business and markets.
Morton also served as a policy advisor and senior member of the management team at the Federal Housing Finance Board, an agency responsible for supervising the Federal Home Loan Bank System, a government-sponsored cooperative of 12 regional wholesale financial institutions with $1 trillion in assets and more than 8,000 members nationwide.
A native of Chicago, Morton received a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, where he was editor of the Chicago Policy Review. He graduated with honors from Northwestern University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.

Cornelia Horner, CMP is the Chief Operating Officer for the American Land Title Association (ALTA) where she oversees all operations of the association. Cornelia began her career working for U.S. Senator Howell Heflin as a receptionist and was promoted to scheduler. She then worked as the office manager for a lobbying firm, Copeland, Lowery & Jacquez. After approximately ten years of working on Capitol Hill and in government relations, Cornelia was able to parlay her volunteer work planning meetings and events into a career as a meeting planner and then spent nearly eight years with CropLife America, a trade association, as their director of meetings. Following CropLife America, Cornelia opened Convention Meeting and Hospitality Solutions (CMH Solutions), an independent meeting planning company, but was convinced to return to the association world by her client ALTA.
Since joining ALTA as Director of Meetings in 2007, Cornelia has grown as a successful leader in the non-profit world, serving as Vice President over meetings, marketing and membership, and now, COO. She also served as the Interim CEO of the association for nearly a year. In her tenure, she has seen the association more than double in size both in number of members as well as attendees at the association's major conferences.
Cornelia is a graduate of the University of Alabama where she received her degree in Accounting. She received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2002.
She is active in both the association community and the events industry having served on the International Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International (MPI) as well as many roles including President of the Potomac Chapter of MPI. She is currently serving on the Events Industry Council's CMP Governance Commission and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Diane Tomb is Chief Executive Officer of the American Land Title Association (ALTA), a national trade association representing more than 6,000 title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers and real estate attorneys who protect real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles. In this role, Tomb leads an organization focused on providing advocacy, education, networking, and standards for an industry that operates in every county in the United States.
Since becoming CEO, ALTA launched an industry wide public awareness campaign called "Our Title is Protection" to explain who we are and the value the industry provides. She was also instrumental in creating the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation shortly after the pandemic hit, which supports charitable efforts of title professionals as they strengthen local communities. The Foundation has raised almost $1 million, delivering grants to more than 70 organizations across the country and donating hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Jeremy Yohe is vice president of communications for the American Land Title Association (ALTA), which is the national trade association representing nearly 6,400 title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers and real estate attorneys.
In his role, Yohe is responsible for the overall communications strategy for ALTA. His primary duties are writing and coordinating content for ALTA's publications, including the monthly and digital magazine, TitleNews, electronic newsletter, TitleNews Online, Title Law Quarterly, and ALTA's newest e-newsletter, Digital Fix, which focused on technology and innovation in the industry. He also coordinates the association's monthly education webinars, and oversees the association's consumer education website, Home Closing 101.
Prior to joining ALTA in 2009, Yohe was editor of The Title Report, a national trade publication covering the title insurance industry. He received several writing awards from the Society of Professional Journalists during his three years as editor of the publication. Before that, Yohe served in many capacities for numerous newspapers in Ohio, including The Lima News, Massillon Independent, Delaware Gazette, Troy Daily News and This Week Newspapers in Columbus.
Yohe graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

With the exception of a short time serving a San Francisco firefighter, he has enjoyed a 32-year career with the company, serving in a wide variety of capacities including county manager of numerous operations. Lisa Steele is the chief operating officer for Mother Lode Holding Company. Mother Lode has operations in eight Western states and two divisions that handle transactions nationwide. Lisa is a 30-year industry veteran with a background in sales, marketing, escrow, operations and leadership. She currently oversees the daily operations Mother Lode Holding Group with her two business partners. Mother Lode Holding is a privately held company started by founder, Leo French. Lisa's passion is helping others. Hanging on a worn post it note in her office, you will find a simple daily reminder: "Leadership means serving the greater good." She is a culture creator. Steele has learned the importance of building a workplace that people enjoy, where they feel safe and appreciated, and where they care for one another and their customers. Leo French started with this simple goal when founding MLHC and Lisa is proud to carry on that goal. When not traveling to one of the branch operations, Lisa can be found at the lake, camping with family and spending time outdoors. She also serves as the CEO of the Strong As Steele Cancer Foundation, where she is proud to honor her late daughter, Taylor, by providing financial support to many cancer patients and organizations.

Following in his father's footsteps, Quinn Stufflebeam began working in the family business at a young age. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Utah and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, Quinn returned to manage a county office in Twin Falls, Idaho. He went on to become the Idaho state president and currently serves as chief executive officer of Title Financial Corp. Quinn has continued to follow the expansion plan and in 2012 the company broadened its footprint into Wyoming.

Richard Welshons began his career in the title insurance industry in 1984 when he joined Dakota County Abstract Company-now known as DCA Title-a privately held company established by his father and grandfather. Richard was named president of the company in 1989. In addition to serving on ALTA's Board and many committees, Richard has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Land Title Association continuously since 1997. Active in his local community, Welshons has served on the Board of Directors for multiple organizations.
Richard Welshons began his career in the title insurance industry in 1984 when he joined Dakota County Abstract Company ("DCA"), an agency founded by his father, Paul, and grandfather, Amos. He was named President of the company in 1989 upon the retirement of his father. Richard and his brother Dave owned and ran the company until they sold to North Dakota Guaranty and Title in 2022. In addition to being a member of ALTA's Board of Governors, Welshons serves as Chair of the Abstracters and Title Insurance Agents Executive Committee, Chair of ALTA's Bylaws Committee and is active in other active ALTA Engagement Groups. Welshons has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Land Title Association continuously since 1997 and served as its President from 2001 to 2002 and as its Secretary/Treasurer from 2003 to the present. In addition to his role on the Board, he also serves as a Director of the Association's Political Action Committee. Active in his local community, Welshons has served on the Board of Directors for the Hasting Area Chamber of Commerce, the Hastings Area YMCA and the Hastings Public School Foundation. He has participated in many other community committees, boards and commissions throughout the years.

Tara S. Smith serves as Group President of Stewart's Agency Operations. In this role, she oversees Stewart's independent title agency network of Trusted Providers™ and all products and services offered to our agency network. She also oversees the company's marketing operations. Prior to joining Stewart in 2013, Tara spent 12 years in public accounting through which she provided strategic guidance to clients in the financial services and oil and gas industries. Tara is a member of the American Land Title Association's Board of Governors. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
