Breadmarket Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 6LG
The Birthplace Museum was founded in 1901 as a celebration of the writer and his times. Situated on Breadmarket Street in the centre of Lichfield, the house was built for Johnson's parents, Sarah and Michael, in 1708, and the family ran their bookshop business on the ground floor. Today the Birthplace is a vibrant accredited museum operated by Lichfield City Council and dedicated to showcasing the work of Johnson, his literary contemporaries, and the lively times in which he lived... We host events and activities throughout the year, including collaborations with the Lichfield Festival, Lichfield Literature Festival and Lichfield City Council. We also hold a vast collection of books, manuscripts and objects about Johnson's life, works, and fellow writers, as well as documents relating to eighteenth century life in Lichfield... We're looking for a Museum Support Officer to join our team. If you're a friendly, helpful, conscientious, and enthusiastic person who's interested in..
