SPRINGSYDE COTTAGERS

Springsyde is the name given to the one mile of south-east shoreline of Pen Lake. The "Plan of Springbank" was registered in 1903 when this area subdivided into cottage lots. The Springbank Cottagers' Association ("SCA") was created in 1905. At that time, an Association dock and boathouse were built for use by the Association. The... In order for members to travel to & from the Springbank dock & later North Portage, a common trail was then established, linking one end of the tiny community to the other. Each cottage was & still is responsible for maintaining its own section, & the right to use the Path has been grandfathered ever since.
