Dr Angshuman Deka, Consultant , The Retina Centre, specializes in cataract, anterior segment, oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. He received his post graduate degree Diplomate National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology from National Board of examination ,
New Delhi in 2014. He also underwent a long term fellowship in orbit , oculoplasty and reconstructive surgery at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati and a training on cataract surgery from Aravind Eye hospital, Pondicherry. He has previously served as consultant cataract and oculoplasty services at Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata.Dr Deka has an experience of performing over 4000 cataract surgery and 1000 oculoplasty surgeries successfully.
Dr. Jayanta Kumar Das is a prominent Ophthalmologist of India. He is one of the few eye specialists in the country and North East India to acquire a Ph.D. degree. He underwent training in Oculoplasty from Moorefields Eye Hospital, UK, and worked as a senior consultant in Oculoplasty and Neuro- Ophthalmology department at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati for around 20 years. Apart from his vast clinical experience in eye care, his outstanding contribution as a teacher for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati, is widely acknowledged by the student community. His dedicated healthcare service to patients ranging from the most economically and socially backward to the affluent has tremendously benefited North East India. It has also inspired many other doctors and students. Dr. Jayanta Kumar Das has got innumerable national and international research and scientific publications to his credit. Apart from being involved in the clinical, teaching, and research sector, Dr.Jayanta Kumar Das also held various offices in national and international ophthalmology associations and councils. He is currently serving as the General Secretary of the Ophthalmic Society of Assam.

Dr. Jnanankar Medhi, Consultant , The Retina Centre, specializes in surgery of the cataract, cornea and anterior segment. He received his MS degree from RIO, Guwahati in 2003. and trained under the ICO Fellowship in Cornea and external diseases from Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston as well as at the Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. He served as a Consultant, Cornea Services, at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati from 2004-2017.

Dr. S. K. Buragohain, Consultant, The Retina Centre, has an ophthalmic background stems from MS(Ophthalmalogy) and DNB(Ophthalmalogy)qualificationswhich have been achieved post completion of MBBS. He completed his MBBS graduation from Guwahati Medical College and his MS training was subsequently finalized from the prestigious Assam Medical College. Furthermore, Dr Buragohain enhance his scientific knowledge through the achievement of various fellowship programs from Sankara Netralaya Chennai and Sankardeva Netralaya Guwahati and a short term training course on Ocular Ultrasonography in Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York, USA. Dr. Buragohain has performed more than 15,000 cataract surgery and more than 2000 glaucoma surgery.

Dr. S.U. Ahmed, Founder & Vitreo Retinal Surgeon, The Retina Centre, completed his MBBS from Silchar Medical College (Under GU) in 1981. He then pursued his MS from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, GMCH, Guwahati, in 1993 and later underwent a Vitreo Retinal fellowship from Sankara Netralaya, Chennai, from 1993-94. Dr.Ahmed has been trained internationally at Singapore National Eye Centre and Frankfurt, Germany with Prof Eckhardt for Sub-macular Surgery. He served as a Consultant & Senior consultant in the Retina Vitreous Department of sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya from 1994 to 2003. After which, he was instrumental and a partner at Guwahati Eye Institute, Guwahati, till2019 before starting the eye hospital, The Retina Centre, in January 2019. Dr. Ahmed has performed around 10,000 Vireo Retinal surgeries and more than 1,00,000 retinal laser and other procedures during the last25 years.
Farhad Ahmed is the CEO of The Retina Centre, a Super-specialty Eye Hospital based in Guwahati, Assam, founded in January 2019 by a team of highly experienced doctors.
He is a seasoned, young entrepreneur. His area of expertise includes investing in new ventures and raise them as a brand in less time. Having worked in MNCs as a Distributor, he brings industry insights and professionalism to his approach in a structured format.
He pursued MBA in Marketing from Alliance University, a premier B-School in Bangalore. He started his career as a distributor for Ingersoll Rand, an American commercial air conditioning company. He was ranked among the top distributors within the first year of his service. Realizing his true love in the marketing sector, he moved to KAFF Kitchen Appliances, a premium kitchen brand, as a distributor, where he truly excelled in his performance. Subsequently, he moved to the Retail front and owned multiple outlets under the Future Group in Bangalore.
During his corporate and entrepreneurial stint, Farhad has worked in diverse industries gaining knowledge in all fields, which helped him excel in his Healthcare brand - The Retina Centre. He has been working on building and excelling this Eye Hospital as a brand to cover the rest of the North Eastern Region, which is underserved as far as Healthcare is concerned. His understanding of the Healthcare Industry is incredibly impeccable, having dealt with the marketing segment and being instrumental in providing Eye Care Treatments from routine eye tests to treat the most elaborate vision and eye-related problems throughout the patient journey.
