Debbie Wilson

Job Titles:
  • Osteopath and Massage Therapist
Hi, I'm Debbie and I have been a remedial massage therapist since 2015. Following various roles in health and social care, I was made redundant, and used this opportunity to really evaluate what I wanted to do for a career. I absolutely loved working in healthcare; the satisfaction and "warm fuzzy" feeling of helping someone get back health, as well as often being their support and encouragement. Combined with a lifelong fascination with bodies, how they work and what can go wrong, I decided to sign up for a sports massage qualification. I immediately knew this was the right path for me, and since then I have done many additional qualifications in body work. From 2015-2018, I worked for myself in private practice. Sunderland lass born and bred, I moved to Germany in 2018 to a beautiful small mountain region, after taking a holiday there and falling in love with the place. Whilst living there, I have worked in 2 private practices, and gained a qualification in Osteopathy, which is my passion, and I usually incorporate techniques from this into most of my treatments. I'm always learning new skills and updating my treatment options. My brain constantly wants new "input" and I am excited to bring my current and new skills and ideas to the Tayloredfit team at the Chapel. I'm looking forward to meeting you all, and also bringing new faces into this fabulous practice.

Hatha Yoga

Job Titles:
  • Hatha Yoga Instructor
Yoga has been a passion of mine for more than 15 years; the regular practice helped me physically and mentally to deal with recurrent pain borne from a minor physical abnormality and an operation as a child. The physical practice strengthened my body, re-taught me mobility I'd lost and allowed for flexibility that had never been possible. The mindfulness taught me compassion, allowed me to put my physical ailments into perspective and taught me ways to mentally cope with discomforts in my body. In 2021 I trained as a Yoga Teacher and now teach classes focusing on movement, mobility and meditation. Including the classes here at Taylored Fit Physio, I teach Hatha Yoga in person and online, with a chair or on a mat and for a relatively low cost because I want others to experience the improvements in physical health and mental wellbeing without barriers to entry. Hatha Yoga is thousands of years old and has evolved considerably over time, I like to think that my classes honour the traditional eight limbs of yoga but have a contemporary twist to them. Because the eight limbs of yoga teach us to live a full life, true to ourselves and without harming those around us, it could be said that I never stop teaching yoga - my husband says that my endless talk on the benefits of yoga remind him of a cult leader, whether this is true or not, he is a fan and can often be found trying to "recruit" others.

Janet Greenwood

Job Titles:
  • Craniosacral Therapist
I qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in Newcastle in 1990 and spent my early years working in the NHS in Newcastle General Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary. After a year of travelling and working as a physiotherapist in Australia I returned to the north east to join an independent physiotherapy company. Here I worked for almost 20 years alongside other healthcare professionals providing care to patients in private practice, GP surgeries and in occupational health.

Kerry Charlton

Job Titles:
  • Sports Massage Therapist
Hi, I'm Kerry I have worked as a Sports Massage Therapist for the last 9 years where I have gained a vast amount of experience working in various settings from charities to elite athletes and private practice. I have had the privilege of providing massage for such charities as the NSPCC at the unique venue of the gherkin in London, CHUF charity supporting them over a number of ultra triathlons and massaging many runners at the finish line of the Great North Run up until the last 3 years where as a keen runner I have ran it myself. Some of the highlights of my career so far have been working with the Scotland team at the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and previously working with the lads at Durham County Cricket Club for 8 years. I have a real passion for people and began life as a youth worker working with disadvantaged young people across the northeast for 5 years as well as volunteering over in Cambodia before I moved into the NHS working with both adults and young people with substance addictions. After gaining experience and seeing that there was real value and importance in integrating people in their own communities, I set up my own company to focus on exactly that and the power of connection and connecting people. However, my real passion always lay within sport and fitness though, that combined with picking up various injuries across the years myself whether that be through running, boxing, or playing football lead me down my now career bath as a sports massage therapist. I wanted to know how I could help people and fix those that were suffering, and sports massage just fit.I love the simplicity of how sports massage works as a modality, I love the simplicity of the science behind it and how I ca help aid in the healing of the soft tissue as well as preventing injuries in the first place.
