A.HICKMAN DESIGN - Key Persons

Andrea Hickman founded A.HICKMAN Design in 2002 to fulfill a vision of marrying her creative talents and love of design with her project management and problem solving skills - all under the assertion that we all want the same thing in a home: comfort and aesthetic appeal.  Andrea Hickman has loved architecture and interior design since she was a child. As a little girl, she would spend hours drawing floor plans and room renderings. She would study leading architects' designs. She would visit model homes and re-create the floor plans with hair ribbons on her floor, and then fill the spaces with doll furniture and hand-made accessories.  Early on, her education was augmented with numerous art and design courses. At 16, Andrea began working after school as a computer aided design draftsman (CAD), and a few years later as a graphics designer and an assistant to a luxury residential design-build firm. Andrea graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA majoring in business analysis and software design. She spent five years after college as a consultant analyzing and designing corporate software solutions, but her love of interior design soon drew her back to the residential design world. Andrea has grown A.HICKMAN Design to include not only residential design and decorating, but also commercial interiors and consults for exterior projects. To day, Andrea stay s abreast of the latest design trends, innovations and products by attend ing continuing education seminars, lectures and trade shows throughout the year.
