Dr Kowsalya Murugappan

Dr Kowsi Murugappan is an Australian trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon. She obtained her medical degree at Monash University in 2004 and then completed her General Surgical training at the Austin Hospital and Monash Health between 2006-2012. During training she developed a strong interest toward breast cancer management and further specialised in Breast and Endocrine surgery, completing three years of Breast and Endocrine fellowships at Nepean Hospital - Sydney, Christchurch Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Following completion of her final year of fellowship, she was offered and accepted a position at the RBWH, where she was also able to indulge her passion for clinical teaching and research. Dr Murugappan is currently one of the principle breast cancer clinical researchers working within the UQ Centre for Clinical Research, with a growing body of published and ongoing research. Wanting to ensure her patients received the best options for surgical management, Dr Murugappan has further broadened her experience in her field and developed expertise in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery. She is now proud to offer comprehensive breast, endocrine and general surgical management through her clinic Brisbane Comprehensive Breast and Endocrine Surgery.
