Chermaine graduated with a Master of Audiology from the University of Southampton, England, and was accorded a specialization in Cochlear Implants. Following graduation, she worked at the prestigious Southampton Auditory Implant Centre in the UK, and hearing aid manufacturers Oticon and HearLIFE in Singapore. Her clinical work has seen her manage cases of severe tinnitus, meningitis, balance disorders, auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder and long-term post lingual hearing loss. She is currently a visiting consultant to numerous hearing care centres and private hospitals across Asia. Chermaine has a passion for driving hearing care in less developed parts of Asia and was part of the team that performed pilot cochlear implant surgeries in Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar. Outside of work, she actively volunteers on medical missions and is heavily involved in hearing conservation projects.
