PEACE LUTHERAN SCHOOL - Key Persons
Miss Beckie grew up in Southern California. At the age of 17 she started working for a Montessori Preschool. Two years later she and her mother opened a home childcare which ran for 10 years. After getting married in 2001, she moved to Washington. At that time she pursued an ECE certificate and will be working toward her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Miss Beckie has been at Peace since 2011 and hopes to continue for several more years. Her passions, besides working with children, are Disney, music, books, and being creative!
Mr. Petrich has lived throughout Minnesota his entire life before receiving God's call to Peace Lutheran. He graduated from Concordia University St. Paul where he received his Bachelor of Arts in church music under the direction of Dr. David Mennicke. He also received a minor in Lutheran Theology, meeting the requirements for his certification to become a Director of Parish Music. His primary emphasis of study was in conducting and clarinet. While studying to become a Director of Parish Music, Mr. Petrich also studied K-12 music education. While at Concordia he gained the knowledge, understanding, and responsibility needed to lead his fellow Christians in song.
Mrs. Tyrrel grew up in California. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from CSU-Chico as well as an education degree. She is married and has a hobby farm.
Mrs. Tyrrel has been a teacher at Peace since 2018.
Ms. Julie has worked in Early Childhood Classrooms for over 20 years. She has an Associates in Early Childhood Education along with many credit hours of different early learning classes. She brings a lot of experience to Peace from teaching Pre-Kindergarten, being a Child Care Director, long term substitute Kindergarten Teacher, and teaching Special Education preschool children.
Julie has two school age children of her own. Grace and John keep her busy learning the life of a middle and high school mom.
Julie is also blessed being a Navy wife. She, her husband Ben, and kids have lived from CA to Japan and back in WA. She's grateful to be back in the beautiful PNW.
Ms. Julie understands the importance of the 4-5 year old learning styles and prides herself on giving them the best education possible.
As a child of Lutheran missionaries, Kerrick grew up calling Hong Kong home. He is a huge technology buff. He enjoys building computers and researching future technologies that may find themselves in the classroom. He looks forward to enriching his students with engaging lessons, supporting his students with encouragement and help. He has a special place in his heart for students with special learning needs, always willing to provide extra time and support. Kerrick enjoys playing and watching all sports as well as just spending some time enjoying nature (especially in western Washington). He is enjoying learning the ins and outs of our area, and is always eager for new experiences. His first year at Peace is 2019-2020.

Marilyn Perry has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1992. She has two daughters, Leah and Michelle, who attended Peace from Kindergarten through eighth grade and one grandson. Her husband, Bruce, is retired from civil service at Bangor. Marilyn has been the school secretary since March 1994.
Miss Rachel was born and raised in Bremerton, Washington. She attended Peace Lutheran from Preschool through eighth grade. She then went on to Olympic High School, where she first started taking early childhood classes, and then to Olympic college to continue. She has been working at Peace since 2002 in the daycare and aiding in the preschool and prekindergarten classrooms. Rachel enjoys sports, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
Rachel is starting her fifth year of teaching. This will be her third year of teaching Kindergarten and she is looking forward to be utilizing her BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood credential here at Peace. She had been serving at Anchor Lutheran in Anchorage, Alaska since her graduation from Concordia University Nebraska in 2015. She has trained specifically for full time ministry in Lutheran Schools and is thrilled to have the opportunity to use her gifts to engage her students in learning while sharing her faith in meaningful ways. Her first year at Peace is 2019-2020.

Rita has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1984. She has two daughters, who attended Peace Lutheran School, both of them going all the way through eighth grade. She has served on various Boards and Committees, caters many school and church events with her husband Art, and volunteers wherever needed. She has worked at Peace since 1992 in Childcare and Administration. It is the love of the children, their parents, and our wonderful staff that brings her back year after year. God has blessed and continues to bless our ministry here at Peace.
Mrs. Juszczak was born in Gardena, California. She attended Christ Lutheran School in San Pedro, Trinity Lutheran School and Concordia Lutheran High School in Portland, Oregon, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Concordia University in Portland. She has taught at Concordia Lutheran School in Tacoma, Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Scottsbluff Public Schools in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and in the Bremerton Public Schools. Sheri's husband, John, is retired. She has three sons, Will, Martin and Erik (all Peace graduates), two step-children, Matt and Aly, who live in Oregon, and two grandchildren. Sheri has been a teacher at Peace since 1990 and teaches middle school and 6th grade homeroom.
Mrs. Love was born in San Diego, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from San Diego State University. Suzanne received her Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. She has taught kindergarten in California, Central Kitsap and Bremerton School Districts. She is married to Chris, and has two sons, Austin and Matthew. Her family has been at Peace since 2008.
Mrs. Gierke was born and raised in Bremerton and lives in Belfair. She graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Her husband, Bruce, works as an Infrastructure Support Specialist for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Terri and Bruce have two daughters, Tricia and Kaitlyn. Terri enjoys riding her horse, Smokey, walking her dogs, and gardening. Terri taught first and second grades and has been at Peace since 2000.
