MAYFLY - Key Persons
Helen joined Mayfly in 2024 as a Copywriter, with a wealth of experience writing and editing content for household names across a multitude of platforms, spanning from Tik Toks, TV, and everything in between.
For over five years Helen has worked for a variety of digital marketing agencies, writing impactful messaging and developing creative strategies for many household names including Primark, Love Honey, and Westfield. She first launched herself in the digital marketing space on a creative placement for a Belfast-based brand agency, in which she assisted in developing campaign strategies and website copywriting for a diverse client base.
Helen holds a BA in Creative Advertising from Leeds Art University. Originally from Belfast, she moved to Liverpool in 2022, and has worked as a freelance content creator since 2018. Her role at Mayfly involves website copywriting for our diverse range of clients, ensuring a consistent tone of voice through long-form copy and a high attention to detail that exceeds our client's expectations.
James joined Mayfly in 2023 as a Copywriter. His remit is the written word in all its forms - from blog posts and service pages to newsletters and optimised product descriptions.
He has been working as a writer and editor across various industries for more than a decade. James has worked as a copywriter across the digital marketing space, with a focus on delivering engaging, fully optimised content that helps businesses improve their search visibility. In that time, he's written content for everything from homeware brands and financial advisors to software companies and solicitors.
Jeff joined Mayfly in 2023, after working as a freelancer since 2014. Taking the autodidactic approach, Jeff is a self-taught coder, building and managing websites over the years. He has grown into the marketing mindset, creating websites for small to medium-sized businesses and helping them achieve their marketing and business objectives.
Jeff has worked on quiz websites, websites for local tradespeoples, golf websites, and coding tutorial sites. He always has a project on the go, building online properties and experimenting with new techniques he learns on SEO community forums.
John joined Mayfly in 2016 after studying English at the University of Liverpool. In 2020, he completed the Chartered Institute of Marketers' Level 6 Digital Diploma in Marketing. This degree-level qualification took a year to complete and involved researching and applying established marketing frameworks to digital practices.
He's worked across the full range of digital marketing channels with dozens of clients in a wide range of industries including private schools, independent hospitals, and international franchise businesses. John's work with Mayfly includes managing Google Ads accounts, developing organic content strategies, managing web design projects, and designing email marketing campaigns.
Having founded the business in 2008, Liam Patton is the Director of Mayfly. What started as a one-man operation has gradually expanded into a business that acts as the marketing department for independent businesses across the country. He believes in straightforward, no-nonsense conversations that lay out exactly what we can do for your business.
Liam's background in Business Management, Google Paid Strategy and digital marketing has seen him managing campaigns for well-known companies such as Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Halewood International and Grant UK. Still, it's the smaller, independent SMEs that he really enjoys working with.
Louise joined us as a Social Media Executive in 2024. She has been working behind the scenes with Mayfly since 2022 but has officially joined us in-house this month as a member of our social media team.
Louise is a motivated, experienced designer and passionate about the work she creates. She has a wealth of knowledge in the design industry after having a career for over 18 years as a swimwear and print designer working with several international e-commerce fashion brands.
In 2020, Louise had a lockdown project and set up her own small independent business, Joy Twenty-Six. Still in its infancy, her range of sustainable knitwear & accessories has acquired a very loyal client base both locally & nationally.
Before joining Mayfly in 2023 as a Social Media Manager, Sadiq achieved a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Kashmir University before spending two years working for Clicks to Conversions, a digital marketing agency in Kashmir. During this time he gained valuable experience working with paid advertising channels including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Linkedin.
His role at Mayfly involves managing, analysing, strategising and optimising clients' social presence and paid social campaigns. Constantly working with a number of clients and crafting bespoke social media strategies for each client and brand to deliver exceptional performance and great results.
Paul has worked with Mayfly since 2014. He has over 20 years of experience building websites for large-scale professional services and government sectors. Paul has developed fast, high-performing websites for legal and financial clients including solicitors, barristers, law firms, and accounting businesses.
Valeriya joined Mayfly in 2022, after having completed degrees in International Relationships, and Languages (English and Spanish), as well as an International Management MSc. She has worked in the social media industry since 2019, starting as an independent blogger and influencer, and has accumulated over 90,000 followers across all platforms.
Valeriya's marketing and language skills have taken her across the world undertaking freelance work for clients including the Embassy of Qatar, and creating content for sports agencies like The Anfield Wrap, This is Anfield and Liverpool Football Club. Valeriya's role at Mayfly chiefly involves creating short-form video content for reels on Instagram and posts on TikTok. She also specialises in creating, implementing and optimising social media strategies for brands and influencers.
