Andy Durston

Andy brings a wide range of aviation and business skills to the team Although Andy grew up in amongst aviation, the spark did not ignite until in his teens. After learning to fly at 17, the passion grew and Andy went on to gain his Display Authorisation in 2006, flying various Yaks and Pitts, during which time he started to learn the art of formation aerobatics. Andy Joined the Navy in 2005, progressing through the fixed-wing training pipeline on the Tucano, Hawk and Harrier. Andy co-founded the FireFlies Aerobatic Display Team in 2015 and in 2016, Richard invited Andy to join his team of pilots at Air Leasing / Ultimate Warbird Flights. Needless to say he didn't need to think about the answer for long! Since then, Andy has been lucky enough to fly a variety of warbirds and flies the Mustang as part of the Ultimate Fighters Display Team. Outside of the cockpit Andy runs his own aviation supplies business which has been operating successfully for 8 years. Like the other members of the team, it's a definite and intentional choice of mixing business and pleasure!

Jamie Chalkley

Jamie is our contracts specialist, bringing over 2 decades of aircraft sales experience to the team Jamie literally grew up around Warbirds! Having worked closely with his Grandrather; renowned "WarbirdFinder" Jim Pearce, Jamie helped locate some of the rarest WWII aircraft in the world today and helped place many of them with private and public collectors across the globe. Jamie has worked in aircraft sales for over 20 years and has amassed extensive experience in contract negotiations in more than 500+ transactions. Jamie is experienced dealing directly with legal and financial institutions around the world as well as managing sales through escrow facilities. Jamie is a CPL (H) (FAA & EASA) and is a private fixed wing pilot as well. You might also spot him in the odd movie, but only if you're quick (Mr. Bond!).

Richard Grace

Richard is a world renowned aircraft engineer, specialising in warbirds as well as a hugely experienced pilot Richard started flying young, his first flight was at just two weeks old in the family Stampe SV4C. He first held the controls of the same aircraft at 7 and was taking off and landing by 15. He achieved his flying licence at 19 and flew his first air display in his Cassutt Racer at the Red Bull air race at Longleat. Richard's father Nick had rebuilt the family Spitfire TIX, ML407 and finished it before he was a year old and he has grown up in the warbird industry. Richard first flew the Spitfire at 23 and has gone on to fly a number of other warbird types as well as being the leader of the Trig Aerobatic Team who successfully flew their Pitts Special biplanes at air displays throughout the UK and Europe. He operates all aircraft under the organisation Ulimate Warbird Flights and flies the Buchon as part of the Ultimate Fighters Display Team. Richard is the director, and chief engineer, of Air Leasing LTD based at Sywell which specialises in all aspects WWII fighters. Over the past 10 years Richard has travelled the world carrying out pre-purchase inspections and shipping aircraft, both in containers and as oversize open shipments. Richard brokered his first vintage aircraft at 19 and has continued to broker, and also source, vintage aircraft for various clients worldwide.
