Bernard Rix

Bernard is the Founder of Policing Insight, PolicingTV and the World Class Policing Awards. Prior to setting up CoPaCC, Bernard worked as an independent police, criminal justice and community safety advisor since 1990, across the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. He led over fifty significant change assignments in this time, work that has - amongst other benefits - improved police investigation of burglary, cut court delays, given victims a better service, helped community relations, and enhanced police officer safety

Danny Shaw

The ‘Talking Crime' series is produced by Gaetan Portal and presented by Danny Shaw, both of whom spent over 30 years at the BBC. Danny was a home affairs correspondent specialising in crime, policing and justice. He was the Bar Council Legal Reporter of the Year four times and was part of a team involved in the award-winning ‘100 killings' project which examined cases of murder and manslaughter in 2019. Danny blogs on his own website, www.dannyshaw.net, and is a Senior Associate at the criminal justice consultancy, Crest Advisory.

Gaetan Portal

Gaetan is a former BBC producer and journalist working with Danny Shaw to develop content for PolicingTV. At the BBC Gaetan worked across TV, Radio & Online for more than 30 years and ended his career as a Senior Producer with the Home & Legal Affairs team. He is a Partner at Maltin PR, an award winning and internationally recognised London based Litigation and Legal PR firm.

Ian Barrett

Ian is responsible for CoPaCC's publishing strategy including platform, content and commercial development. An experienced publisher and commercial manager, Ian has spent the past 18 years publishing magazines and websites in the police and security sectors including Jane's Police Review and Police Oracle before developing Policing Insight for CoPaCC. Ian continues to develop CoPaCC's publishing strategy to engage our community of police and criminal justice professionals via Policing Insight, PolicingTV and the World Class Policing Awards.

Ian Tomson-Smith

Ian is responsible for managing PolicingTV and developing Policing Insight Events. He will be leading the launch of a series of virtual high-profile policing events for UK and International Markets. Both internally and for external customers. These events will be showcased via videos on PolicingTV and articles on Policing Insight.
