AASD STUDENT MARKETING TEAM - Key Persons
Abby plans on attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next year to pursue a higher education. She has enjoyed collaborating on projects, having two hours of her day dedicated to a unique office setting, and being able to be creative and experiment within her work.
Adrianna plans on furthering her education at the University of Minnesota or Marquette University next fall. Either option will allow her to pursue a major in advertising and a minor in broadcasting journalism. Adrianna's favorite part of the SMT internship has been the opportunity to engage with businesses throughout the community as well as learning from business professionals.
Next year, Alayna hopes to attend an instate college that will allow her to pursue an education in marketing and business management. She has enjoyed the equal opportunities for independent work and collaboration that the Student Marketing Internship provides.
Aliyah will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout next year to major in interactive graphic design and minor in marketing. She values her time in the Student Marketing Internship as she knows it has provided her with real world experience that will better prepare her for life outside of school.
Austin was given an opportunity to learn about sales in the sports world. Austin went through multiple sessions learning about the different parts of sales. At the end of the sales training Austin completed a mock phone call attempting to sell a ticket package.
Austin has always had a passion for sports, he had always wanted to learn Adobe Photoshop. Austin created a design page on Instagram where he posts his work. Austin used Adobe Photoshop to create these designs.
As the team's only junior, Avery will continue her education at Appleton North High School as well as her dedication to the Student Marketing Team. She values the opportunity to apply the knowledge she has gained to many aspects of her life.
Avery plans to attend University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to major in Marketing and minor in international business. During her two years on the team, she has found her passion for social media marketing and grown her graphic design, video and content creation skills. She has also learned many soft skills while on the team excelling in leadership, project management and communication skills.
Brett plans to attend Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and is considering studying political science or international studies. Throughout his year as an intern, he has utilized his creative abilities to assist clients and expand his graphic design skills. Being an intern also allowed him to develop critical project management skills and tools for the future.
Next fall, Brett plans on studying marketing and Spanish at a college or university. He appreciates the head start that the internship has provided for it's interns and the benefits that will come from the experience.
Cooper plans on attending college to major in marketing and minor in general business. His one year in the student marketing team he has learned many skills such as graphic designs, communication skills, meeting deadlines and many more.
Cyrena plans on going to the University of Wisconsin - Stout for Interior Design. She chose this major because of a sophomore fashion and interior design class. She loved the concept of making an empty space come to life with beautiful furniture, paint and art work.
David will be attending North Park University in Chicago, IL, and major in Graphic design. He has kept involved in numerous groups throughout many years of high school that have shaped him into who he is today. David is always eager to dive deeper into the Graphic design field to explore the many experiences the world has to offer.

Elaina will attend the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana to play soccer and study political science and pre-law. Elaina's work through the internship has allowed her to work closely with mentors and has furthered her interest in raising awareness for political issues. Elaina will continue to use the skills she has developed in the internship to succeed in her future education and career.
As Appleton North DECA's Chapter President, Elaina organized her officer team, helped members prepare for competition, and performed tasks to help prepare the entire chapter for competition in a virtual setting. Examples of this include hosting chapter meetings, submitting chapter campaigns, and designing chapter crewnecks. The Appleton North DECA Chapter performed extremely well at State this year, and everyone who competed with a project, advanced.
Emily plans to attend UW-La Crosse and study Marketing and Recreation Management. During her years in high school she has been very involved in DECA and has led her into a career in the business field. The student marketing team has also helped strengthen her soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership.
The Student Marketing Team is lucky to have Hailey for the first semester of the 2019-2020 school year as she will graduate early to pursue an electrical union apprenticeship that will help her accomplish her goal of becoming a project manager. Hailey is grateful for the real world experiences, contacts, and new opportunities gained from being in this internship.
Hayden will be moving on to his senior year of high school next year at Appleton West. He plans on continuing to help with the AASD Launch Studio and gaining soft skills to help him in the business world. During his year on the team Hayden learned many valuable life skills and soft skills that will continue him to grow as a person and student. Overall, his best takeaway from being a part of the team was learning soft skills such as communication, planning, problem solving, and delegating with others!
Hayden was the Business Partnership Coordinator for Appleton West Deca this year. His tasks included finding business to sponsor their DECA Chapter, help recruit members, and plan/provide volunteer opportunities.
Josie will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point next fall to major in interior architecture and design and minor in advertising. Her favorite part of the Student Marketing Internship has been being able to connect and interact with local business professionals while producing unique content for them and their company.
Katelin will be attending the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay to major in Business Administration and minor in Marketing. She has been involved in many groups throughout high school that has led her to where she is today. During her time on the Student Marketing Team, she has learned leadership skills, how to delegate work, communication, and time management.
Katelyn is a senior at Appleton East High School. She plans to go to college after high school and pursuing a field in Graphic Design. During her junior year on the team, she started her own dog-sitting business, creating a website, business cards, and flyers to hand out. She also worked on various logo design projects and a branding initiative. Katelyn also learned many soft skills like time management, project leadership, and communication skills.
Katie is one of the couple Juniors on the AASD Marketing team, she is planning on continuing her senior year at Appleton East high school. She is considering taking the internship course next year because of how beneficial it is in her future. Katie has improved on her graphic design skills while working with multiple clients on marketing their brands.
Lauren plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout next fall to major in graphic design and minor in marketing. So far, her favorite parts of the Student Marketing Internship has been the opportunity to gain experience, designing real pieces to be used by businesses, and being able to learn outside of a traditional setting.
In the fall, Logan hopes to attend a school where he can major in marketing and criminal justice, as well as maintain his soccer career. Through this internship, he has been given many opportunities to collaborate with new people and is thankful for this aspect of the Student Marketing Team.
Mason will be attending the University of Denver in the fall and his major is currently undecided. He values the opportunity to experience the business world early on that the Student Marketing Team has given him.
Nick has been accepted into the United States Military Academy of West Point and plans on majoring in kinesiology there. Afterwards, Nick hopes to enlist in the United States Army. Through the internship, he has been able to connect with local services that provide him with the opportunity to work in real ways to better develop our community.
Nicole hopes to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout to pursue an education in fashion design and marketing. She believes that the best part of this internship is meeting new people, making new connections, and what she will continue to learn from both of them.
Olivia hopes to attend a college or university in a bigger city with many opportunities. There, she would like to major in marketing or sales. Her favorite aspect of the Student Marketing Team internship is the freedom to find her own projects and the ability to work on something she is passionate about everyday.
Patrick has aspirations to be an audio engineer. He would love to have a career working in a studio, helping musicians create unique music and market it to the world. This year, he is working toward his dream by directing a podcast with Appleton Downtown Inc. and making real content for his community.
Riley Marx plans to attend Fox Valley Technical College and pursue a career in marketing and graphic design.
Following graduation, Ryan will attend San Diego Mesa College to study graphic design. This internship has provided him with the opportunity to apply his creativity and allow him to express what he is passionate about.
Sophia is a future UW-Madison freshmen. After getting to explore different professional outlets for her creativity and learn new related skills in video filming and editing and logo design, Sophia is excited to continue expanding those skills by pursuing degrees in Marketing and Spanish.
Tayler plans to attend UW Milwaukee for international Politics and US Foreign Relations with a minor in Korean. Through Tayler's experience with the internship, she has expanded her network and connections through mentors while also broadening her creative skills in social media marketing, event planning, and graphic design. Being a part of the Student Marketing Team has given Tayler endless critical management skills for all her future endeavors.
Tyler plans on attending a college or university that offers a sports marketing major. He greatly appreciates the knowledge he has gained through the Student Marketing Team internship and how it has been expanded through the use of technological outlets.
