Dr Caitlin Sum

Dr Caitlin Sum is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and attained her RACGP Fellowship in 2018. She enjoys the challenges of treating patients across all ages and in all stages of health in a collaborative and non-judgemental manner. She is particularly interested in the perinatal period and assisting families with sleep, settling, feeding and adjustment to parenthood. Dr Sum is a trainee lactation consultant and a mum to two young children. She has also gained valuable additional experience working with expecting and new families through her previous roles at Torrens House, a residential sleep, settling and breastfeeding support service and as a Medical Officer in the Department of Obstetrics at the Women's and Children's Hospital. She is also a member of the Primary Care Education Advisory Committee for Kidney Health Australia and, as such, has a special interest in kidney health. Dr David Brookes

Dr David Brookes joined Mt Barker Medical Clinic in 1995. His special interests are family medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. Dr Brookes works full-time and shares in the Saturday morning roster at Mt Barker Medical Clinic. Qualifications Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Dip RACOG FACRRM

Dr Emma Ramsey

Dr Emma Ramsey joined Mt Barker Medical Clinic in 2016. After graduating from Flinders University (MBBS) in 2011, Dr Ramsey pursued further study in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG), Paediatrics (Diploma of Child Health), and Palliative Medicine, as well as working in General Practice in rural SA. Dr Ramsey obtained Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016 via the Rural Pathway. Dr Ramsey enjoys all facets of family medicine, particularly women and children's health, and is involved in Obstetrics Shared Care of pregnancy. Dr Paul Dalrymple

Dr Paul trained at Imperial College of Medicine in London and qualified in 1990. He was commissioned into the British Army in 1987 and served for 16 years, retiring in 2003 as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his Army career, he trained as a General Practitioner while completing operational tours to Northern Ireland, Germany, Canada, and Brunei. After leaving the Army, Dr Paul emigrated to Australia with his family. He settled and worked in Horsham, Victoria, and later Albury Wodonga. He became an Australian Citizen in 2009. Dr Paul moved to South Australia in 2015 and is staying here for good in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice but values more than anything developing a close therapeutic relationship with his patients. He is qualified in community paediatrics, family planning and antenatal care, as well as performing minor surgical procedures. In 2000 he completed a Masters Degree in General Practice. He also has an interest in asthma. This year he has started a Certificate in musculoskeletal medicine and hopes to develop skills in this important area of medicine. When he is not working, Dr Paul loves attending his local gym and keeping fit. Dr Peter Sargeant

Dr Peter Sargeant is a GP Obstetrician who graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996. He underwent post-graduate training in Rural General Practice and Obstetrics in the Northern Territory between 1997 and 2002. He has since spent time working in rural Victoria (including Mt Beauty and Falls Creek ski resort), and NSW. Dr Sargeant joined Mt Barker Medical Clinic in 2009. Dr Sargeant's special interest areas include Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and he is able to offer complete antenatal care and delivery at Mount Barker District Soldiers Memorial Hospital, for public and private patients. Dr Sargeant can also facilitate shared care with a Specialist Obstetrician or Tertiary Centre for high-risk pregnancies unable to deliver at Mount Barker District Soldiers Memorial Hospital and can act as the GP Obstetric specialist for shared care with non-procedural GP obstetricians. Dr Sargeant cares for post-natal women and their babies, including immunisation, and breastfeeding problems. He is able to perform Mirena intrauterine device insertion and Implanon insertion in the rooms. Dr Sargeant performs no-scalpel vasectomy procedures locally in the Adelaide Hills. This can be done in our clinic under local anaesthetic, or in the Mt Barker Hospital under general anaesthetic if preferred. Dr Sargeant's other special interest area is skin cancer medicine and surgery, including advanced excisions, in-growing toenail surgery, and he also enjoys the full range of family medicine that rural practice has to offer. Dr Taisa Dorniak-Wall

Dr Taisa Dorniak-Wall joined Mt Barker Medical Clinic in 2023. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2012 and worked within tertiary hospitals in Adelaide and Melbourne in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Paediatrics before embarking on a career as a specialist GP. She enjoys the full breadth of General Practice, especially proactively managing chronic disease, focusing on preventative medicine and practising in an inclusive manner. She is able to insert and remove implanons, IUDs, and provide obstetric shared care as well as skin procedures. In her non-clinical time, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, camping with her kids and exploring foodie venues with her husband. Dr Vanessa Lloyd

Dr Vanessa Lloyd graduated from The University of Adelaide and achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in Adelaide before moving to Armidale in country NSW in 2003. Dr Lloyd returned to Adelaide in 2012 and joined Globe Medical in December 2019 before moving to Strathalbyn Family Medical Centre in April 2021. Dr Lloyd joined Mt Barker Medical Clinic in May 2021.
