Our Mission is to provide technology that gives users immediate impact on decisions of government. Through the collective voice of their communities, users improve the quality of their lives and vitality of neighborhoods... Own Your Government delivers an app that lets residents exercise their rights to participate in decisions about their needs. OYG works through fully inclusive consensus building that involves people working together to set the agenda for, and priorities of, government action, unperturbed by the kaleidoscope of views through which people tend to perceive themselves and the world... It seems obvious that unless we provide a way for individuals to be informed appropriately, and to be heard and for decision-makers to hear them, and to support them with tools they need to build consensus and take action on their own priorities, the distinction between democratic and totalitarian regimes is academic, with some potentially frightening outcomes.
