CO-OPERATIVE COLLEGE

The establishment of the Jamshedpur Co-operative College, Jamshedpur is the result of visionary outcome of a great social worker dedicated to education Mr. M.D. Madan, who had initiated the foundation of this college dates back to September 1, 1949 when there was no college around in this hub of industrial network for higher education. The College was started initially as an evening tutorial college and became a part of Jamshedpur Educational and Cultural Co-operative Society Limited in 1953. In 1954 the College was named as Jamshedpur Co-operative College, Jamshedpur and Bihar University granted affiliation to this College up to degree level in Arts and Commerce. The College came under Ranchi University, Ranchi with its establishment in 1960, which granted affiliation in Science in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics up to Under Graduate level. The College was made constituent in 1976 Ranchi University, Ranchi which later on came under Kolhan University, Chaibasa on 15th November, 2009..
