Emma Spring

Emma has 15 years experience as a market researcher, starting as a graduate at Adelphi working her way up to Senior Project Manager at Blueprint Partnership. She then took a client side role heading up the research department of a national charity before returning to pharmaceutical agency work as Project Director before choosing to go freelance. In her freelance role Emma provides project support across the research project life for both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Emma is contracted to Horizon on a part time basis providing specialist support across a range of projects and processes.

James Crossland

Job Titles:
  • Director
James started his career in sales and marketing roles, first at GSK and then AstraZeneca. During this time he held increasingly senior brand management roles in GU, CNS, GI and oncology. Following a consulting role running global oncology primary research for Novartis, James spent time as an Equity Analyst at J.P. Morgan Cazenove before going full time into the agency side. James has now run Horizon for 15 years, always with a primary focus on oncology, and so brings a wealth of therapy area experience and strategic commercial expertise to every project.

Jo Counsell

More than a decade of market research management experience across a range of sectors Depth of qualitative and quantitative experience across a wide range of solid tumour types including breast, ovarian, prostate, lung, melanoma and NF1 Jo's market research career began with an undergraduate work placement at Syngenta, and after graduating she joined the research team at the University of Salford, becoming head of the team within a few years. She then joined Cogent Sector Skills Council, linking the UK's science based industries with education and developed a skills strategy for the sector.

Katherine Klein

Job Titles:
  • Moderator / Specialist US Moderator, With 20 Years Healthcare Market Research Experience
After completing a Biology degree followed by an MBA Katherine worked for a range of US and European healthcare market research agencies before setting up on her own as a independent moderator. As well as working across a range of solid and liquid malignancies, Katherine also has extensive experience of interviewing the full breadth of US payers, providers and patients. Katherine provides an additional expert moderating resource to Horizon when required, and can interview late in the US afternoon and evening to ensure we can accommodate the most suitable times for the best responsdents across all time zones.

Mark Knight

Job Titles:
  • Research Director
Having graduated in pharmacology from Cambridge, Mark embarked on a career in market research, first with Adelphi, where he became a quantitative research lead and spent 18 months on secondment in the US. He was then the Customer Insight Manager for a major UK pharmacy chain, before joining Horizon in 2009, since when he has deepened his therapy area knowledge and methodological expertise. Mark is our hematology and GI oncology expert and leads on all things quantitative.

Sarah Raeburn

Job Titles:
  • Fieldwork Manager
Sarah has over 15 years' experience in the healthcare market research industry working for both fieldwork and full service agencies. Her career began at Fast Forward Research, delivering fieldwork on global multi-country projects and managing the internal fieldwork team. She then moved on to a research based role with Ashfield Healthcare developing experience across a range of different methodologies. For Horizon Sarah quotes, coordinates and commissions all fieldwork. On live projects she manages project logistics across all markets and actively tracks commissioned fieldwork partners to ensure smooth running of research studies.
