Dr. Andrew W. Moulton received his Bachelor's of Science with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles where he majored in neurophysiology and kinesiology. He then earned his medical degree and completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. His first fellowship in spinal surgery was performed at the prestigious NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.
Dr. Moulton started his career serving for nine years as faculty of New York Medical College. There he trained medical students, orthopedic residents and the spine surgery fellows from the highest ranked orthopedic hospital, the Hospital for Special Surgery. His responsibilities included all aspects of spinal care, from instruction on gross anatomy, to guiding research programs, to mentoring spinal surgery fellows in treating spinal trauma and scoliosis. He also led the spinal trauma unit at a level one trauma center at Westchester Medical Center and the pediatric scoliosis clinic at Marie Fareri Children's Hospital. Additionally, his work with regenerative treatments beginning with stem cell basic science work in 2005 has led to many of today's clinical strategies.
In his daily work, Dr. Moulton continues to see himself as a teacher as he helps patients understand their condition as well as treatment options. He has particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, serving as an advisor for many innovative technologies. This approach and set of skills allow him to offer the best choices for each individual to achieve their goals and recover quickly.
