Michael Miyamoto, MD, MBA is a medical device entrepreneur, startup founder, and practicing cardiologist.
His expertise spans multiple domains. He maintains an active clinical practice, with a focus on the care of the advanced heart failure patient, cardiac imaging, and preventive cardiology. Research interests include studies of atherosclerosis in ancient humans and contemporary pre-industrial populations, with the goal of elucidating the basic mechanisms atherogenesis. He has been involved in multiple therapeutic and diagnostic trials, including early studies of home B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) testing in heart failure patients. He has served as cofounder of multiple medical device and digital health companies and is a medical affairs advisor for Koa Accel and its portfolio of medical device companies.
