Thanks for visiting The Emergent Investor blog. I started this site so that you could follow me through my investing journey. My hope is that you will learn along with me. I don't have much interest in main stream finance, so you may notice the topics I talk about are not necessarily the things you will read about in the financial press. I love doing my own research and I study the things that interest me. I post about the companies and topics I am learning about... I have been fascinated by financial markets for as long as I can remember. For my thirteenth birthday I asked for stocks, one of which I still own to this day. Since then I have received my undergraduate degree in finance, read countless finance books, finished the CFA program and some of the CMT program, learned a few new languages, and had some pretty crazy experiences working in the asset management, investment banking, and crypto currency industries...
