Our goal is to establish a global network of landscape partnerships which will implement, customize, and extend these restoration approaches, and through stakeholder education, catalyze the global restoration of these critical landscapes... For the past five years, our international team has been developing the techniques for "jump-starting" the revitalization of severely degraded and desertified semi-arid dryland systems. By combining woody organic materials, fertilizers, biochar, and grass plantings, we have increased rainfall capture, reduced irrigation, improved plant growth, sequestered carbon, and successfully revitalized degraded soils in China and the Great Plains... Pure maple syrup is a traditional natural product unique to North America. The Cornell Sugar Maple Program exists to improve the production and use of maple products by working with producers, consumers, and others interested in this fascinating local product.
