Shane Batchelor

Shane Batchelor graduated from St. Pius X High School in Crystal City in 1991 and completed an Associate's degree from Jefferson College in 1994. In 1998, Shane decided to pursue an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia and received his degree in Agricultural Economics from Mizzou in May 2002. Shane began his pursuit of a law degree in June 2002 when he was accepted as a student in the Constitutional Law Seminar at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated early from law school in December 2004, sat for the February 2005 bar exam and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in April 2005. His legal career began in Jefferson County in 2005 and he worked for two local law firms before starting his own firm with Mr. Grafe in 2014. In May 2010, Shane completed the 24 Hour Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Student Certification Course, which is the same training police officers receive from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the detection of suspected impaired drivers. Shane is one of a select few attorneys in the St. Louis area who has received this Certification. His main areas of practice are DWI defense, criminal defense, traffic law and estate planning. Shane is a proud member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MACDL), the Missouri Society for Criminal Justice (MoSCJ), and the American, Missouri and Jefferson County Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice in all Missouri courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Shane also served as the Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Festus from 2009 to 2011.

Travis W. T. Grafe was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois, where he graduated from Belleville Township High School West in 1995. Mr. Grafe attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology in 1999. Mr. Grafe then attended The University of Tulsa, College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2002. While attending law school, Mr. Grafe expanded his growing interest in the field of criminal law and criminal defense by interning for the Honorable Linda Morrissey, District Judge for the 14th Judicial District, Tulsa, Oklahoma. During this internship, Mr. Grafe observed first-hand the practice and art of criminal law on a daily basis, furthering his hunger for the field of criminal defense. After the internship ended, Mr. Grafe gladly accepted an internship with the Tulsa County Public Defender's Office. During his time at the Tulsa County Public Defender's Office, Mr. Grafe directed his attention solely to the field of criminal law and criminal defense while observing and assisting in a wide area of criminal cases, from misdemeanors to serious felonies. After passing the Oklahoma Bar Examination in 2002, Mr. Grafe initially centered his practice on the private sector in the areas of family and domestic law, as well as criminal defense. Then in early 2003, Mr. Grafe gladly accepted a position as an Assistant Public Defender at The Tulsa County Public Defender's Office. Mr. Grafe quickly embraced the vast reservoir of knowledge and experience of the Tulsa County Public Defender's Office, an office renown for its litigators, zealous advocacy and tenacity. Mr. Grafe worked and excelled as a member of the felony trial staff. He gained valuable experience in a wide variety of criminal matters, ranging from misdemeanors to murder cases. This experience further expanded and built on his passion for criminal defense. Mr. Grafe became licensed in the State of Missouri in 2006 and the State of Illinois in 2007. He also remains licensed in the State of Oklahoma. Mr. Grafe, however, concentrates his practice mainly in the State of Missouri and in Jefferson and other surrounding counties. After working for a local Jefferson County law firm for nine years, where he rose to the level of senior associate, Mr. Grafe decided to start his own firm with Mr. Batchelor in 2014. Mr. Grafe strives on a daily basis to effectuate the goal of defending citizen's rights. To that end, he focuses on felony and misdemeanor trials, as well as plea negotiations with prosecutors and "special" motion hearings. He especially excels at difficult cases and/or challenging factual scenarios and quickly learned that although more intense, such cases are especially rewarding for both he and the client. Mr. Grafe prides himself on complete client satisfaction by utilizing his experience to maximize what matters most-the end result. Mr. Grafe will continue to zealously serve residents of Jefferson and surrounding Missouri counties and municipalities, as well as clients in Oklahoma and Illinois.
