David is the Director of Middle East Operations at Joule Group. He leads a team focused on technical excellence and design efficiency with the ability to deliver large and complex projects on time and within budget.
Through his diverse international project portfolio David has acquired the knowledge to successfully deliver projects across the UK, Middle East and Asia. He is a strong leader who uses his technical expertise, leadership and negotiation skills to ensure success.
David's presentation will focus on the exponential changes in the construction industry landscape. This is important because as the world embraces digitalisation, the construction industry will follow suit.
He will explain how we as fire engineers can help our clients keep pace with this change. Some of the examples will show how we can automate and digitise the design and management of fire and life safety systems.

Gordon Wilkinson is a highly experienced senior executive with a strong commercial, financial and operational track record spanning a 30-year career in the Built Environment and Professional Services sectors.
Gordon previously held the position of CEO of Driver Group plc. He has also held leadership roles at Arup, Aecom and been Partner at KPMG.
John, the founder at Joule Group, has been involved in the delivery of a stream of high profile projects globally. John is the creative thinker at the heart of Joule, working with our team and the broader project team to deliver innovative solutions.
Over his career he has been based in Ireland, United Kingdom, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. John is a highly-experienced technical fire engineer and has also developed expertise to enable him to provide the full life cycle of fire engineering services through design, construction and operation.
As a co founder and Director, John is a visionary force in the creation of Joule Group. John sets the strategic goals and objectives of the company. He has an excellent global network and is very well respected in the industry. This allows John to drive the business forward through continued development of key strategic relationships.
Kevin, Joule Group Finance Manager, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, from developing and monitoring strategic and operational plans/budgets to ensuring robust internal control systems and effective reporting mechanisms throughout.
With over 20 years' experience as a senior finance professional operating in ‘niche expanding markets', Kevin has developed a strong overall business acumen and appreciation of what is required to ensure the finance function effectively supports and enhances overall business operations. He is a CIMA-qualified accountant.
Ray is the NI Practice Leader specialising in innovative Fire Engineering solutions, Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management. Ray is a Chartered Engineer and has provided fire safety engineering advice throughout the UK and Ireland on a wide range of complex projects.
Ray has an extensive track record in the design; administration and the delivery of a wide range of high profile Fire Engineering projects. Ray is an innovative mind who thinks outside the box and is continually striving to change the ‘norm' in fire engineering with ground breaking techniques.
