Brigitte Fung

Brigitte Fung graduated with a professional diploma in physiotherapy. Master degree in science of exercise and nutrition science was granted in 2003. She is also a certified Lymphatic Therapist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. She was also the clinical educator of the master of physiotherapy in China. She was presented with the Golden Jubilee Award by the Hong Kong physiotherapy association in 2013 in recognition of her contribution to the profession. Recently she has been actively involved in providing service to children with a special interest in the research and management of sleep disordered breathing and dysfunctional breathing with Orofacial myofunctional therapy and Buteyko breathing reeducation. Christian Guilleminault

Dr. Dr. Christian Guilleminault was an internationally acclaimed physician and researcher in the field of sleep medicine who played a critical role in the early discovery of obstructive sleep apnea. He has made seminal discoveries in many other areas of sleep medicine.

Dr. Geraldo Lorenzi

Dr. Lorenzi graduated as an MD. He has a Pulmonary Medicine and PhD on Pulmonary Defense Mechanisms from the University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Lorenzi's main research interest are related to the mechanisms linking sleep disordered breathing & cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Judith Owens

Biography Judith Owens, MD, MPH, is an internationally recognized authority on children and sleep. She is the Director of Sleep Medicine at Children's National Health System. Her research interests include the neurobehavioral and health consequences of sleep problems in children, pharmacologic treatment of pediatric sleep disorders, and cultural and psychosocial issues that impact sleep. Dr. Owens chairs the pediatric section of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. In 2005 and 2006, she was a spokesperson for the National Sleep Foundation "Sleep in America" poll. She is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Dr. Owens is co-author of Take Charge of Your Child's Sleep: The All-in-One Resource for Solving Sleep Problems in Kids and Teens for parents and A Clinical Guide to Pediatric Sleep for healthcare professionals. She is the recipient of many awards, including a 5-year NIH grant in sleep education, and the AASM 2006 Excellence in Education Award. She is board certified in developmental/behavioral pediatrics and sleep medicine, and is the author of more than 75 original research and review articles in peer-review journals, chapters, and books on the topic. Dr. Kirk Kollmann - Treasurer

Dr. Kirk Kollmann graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and received his pediatric dental degree from Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Keeping with his hospital background, he is a clinical instructor and volunteers his time working with the Cleft Palate - Craniofacial Team at Children's Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kollmann has taken extensive continuing education in the field of Orafacial Myofunctional Therapist by the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. He serves as a spokesperson for the Chicago Dental Society and is involved in various aspects of organized dentistry. He loves to be the do-it-yourself craftsman, being proficient in electricity, carpentry, woodworking, plumbing, etc. Computers and gadgets are another one of his hobbies. He holds great respect for his partner Dr. Furusho.

She has been a member of the Institutional Accreditation Support Group since 2014. Joy Lea Moeller - VP

Joy Moeller, BS, RDH, is a Registered Dental Hygienist and is a former associate professor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, and has been practicing orofacial myofunctional therapy for over 30 years. She is an on-going guest lecturer at USC, UCLA, Loma Linda University, West Coast University, and Cerritos College to ortho, perio, and pedo dental residents and hygiene students. She is currently holding a position at the Sleep Medicine Mini Residency Program at NYU. Joy is currently a speaker of the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) and has taught courses in OMT at the venues of USC, UCSD, UBC, UCSF, NYU, Columbia University, University of Sydney, Australia, the Guttenberg University in Mainz, Germany, Freiberg University in Freiberg, Germany, Louvain, University in Brussels, Belgium, and many other locations around the world. She has worked with Children's Hospital, was a consultant for a sealant program for indigent children, worked in the Super Tooth Program, and in public schools as a health educator in the Smiles Program where she developed a preventive orthodontic program. She is currently in the exclusive practice as myofunctional therapist in Pacific Palisades, California and Beverly Hills, California. Joy Moeller has worked in private practice as a myofunctional therapist since 1980. She graduated from the Myofunctional Therapy Institute in Coral Gables, Florida and had an extensive Internship in Orofacial Myology. Katrina is a specialist speech and language therapist working as a Consultant in Dysphagia in Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust. She has an independent practice, and trained as an orofacial myofunctional practitioner. She is an honorary lecturer at Christchurch University, Greenwich for Paediatric Dysphagia. 2019 winner of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship where she will be tasked with exploring how to establish OMT in the NHS of the UK.

Marc Richard Moeller, Managing Director of the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT), and Executive Director and Founding Board Chair of the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences (AAMS), has spoken on Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) in 28 countries to date and supported the facilitation of research, public health projects, clinical protocols, and curriculum development in OMT with over 50 universities, hospital groups, and governments around the world. Marc is also a Director of Communications of the Stanford Sleep Epidemiology Research Center. Since 2011 Marc has been on a Public Health Committee of the Teste de Linguinha (Frenulum Insepction Protocol) organized out of Brazil that has helped medically validate frenulum inspection protocols for infants (Martinelli) and adolescents/adults (Marchesan) that has passed 18 laws (including a national law in Brazil effective since January 2015) requiring frenulum inspection at birth for newborns. Marc comes to the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy with extensive experience in sales and marketing strategy and management. Marc has spent the majority of his career working in business banking with experience in sales management, sales and marketing strategy, and integration of vertical business units across complimentary business lines. He has managed business banking units starting at Wells Fargo Bank while based in Los Angeles where he rose from an entry level business banking sales position to helping set strategy for the entire division. Based in London he was First Data Corporation's Director of Sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, crafting and managing the credit card processing sales and marketing strategies of Halifax Bank of Scotland, and Lloyds TSB in the UK, and Deutsche PostBank in Germany. Based in New York as the North American Director of the JPMorgan Chase Merchant Services Business Banking unit, the company increased business by over 500% within two years. He has also worked in film production where he developed television series, documentaries, and feature films, based in London, Sao Paolo, Brazil, Shanghai, China, and New York City. Marc has extensive experience as a senior executive in finance, building and bridging strategies across multinational financial conglomerates, specializing in joint-venture integration. He is fortunate to apply this experience as a public health advocate, building bridges in the interdisciplinary profession of OMT facilitating research and developing curricula.Who is Marc Moeller He is a graduate of University of California, San Diego and is based in Los Angeles. Marc is an adjunct professor at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry where he lectures to dental students, orthodontic residents, and the dental sleep residency program. Nicole is an ASHA board certified speech-language pathologist, orofacial myofunctional therapist, and sleep literacy advocate. She is the founder and executive director of Minds In Motion and a teaching assistant in the Graduate School of Education's Mind, Brain, & Teaching program at Johns Hopkins University. Nicole is an executive committee member of the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences (AAMS), and the myofunctional therapy section leader for the American Academy of Physiological Medicine & Dentistry (AAPMD). She is a national speaker on sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in pediatrics and has lectured to various professional organizations on orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) as clinical markers for SDB and its overall impact on childhood functions. Nicole has focused her efforts on raising awareness and building collaboration amongst disciplines on their interdisciplinary roles in the screening and management of SDB. She also writes professional articles on this topic. Nicole is a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins University.
