Angela Phillips

Angela is a licensed therapist and clinical researcher, and has worked in public, private, government, and not-for-profit organizations, across clinical and research-oriented roles. Angela's clinical and research experience has included suicide prevention, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies, teletherapy delivery, understanding global stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, integrated therapeutics, and treatments such as non-invasive brain stimulation for more severe psychiatric or neurological conditions. Angela has co-developed and led randomized and controlled trials in neuromodulation and has provided consultation and training for new providers, centers and academic centers entering collaborative psychiatric and behavioral healthcare using novel treatment interventions and approaches. Additionally, she is excited to cohost our new podcast, Dear Mind, You Matter, with a focus on creating greater awareness and access to a variety of mental health and wellness tools. Anthony Katz

Anthony Katz joined ARS as Senior Director and Head of Human Resources. Anthony brings to ARS more than 25 years of human capital leadership across multiple industries and will oversee all facets of HR for the organization. Most recently, Anthony served as the Vice-President of Human Resources at Envision Healthcare where he led the HR team for the entire Physician Services business unit. Prior to Envision, Anthony was the Vice-President of Human Resources at C3/CustomerContactChannels. He joined that organization as a start up and helped grow the company to over 9,000 employees in multiple countries, which led to the merger with Everise BPO. Prior to joining C3, Anthony led the HR Operations and Talent Acquisition functions for all US locations at Alorica, Inc., a leader in the BPO industry. Anthony was the proud recipient of South Florida Business Weekly's annual Excellence in Human Resources Award for 2017. Anthony lives in South Florida with his wife and two children.

Dr. Kevin Wandler

Kevin Wandler is the founding and chief medical director at Advanced Recovery Systems. With more than 30 years of experience in addiction medicine, Kevin ensures that the latest research-based techniques in addiction treatment are being used. He is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Mitchell Eisenberg - CEO

Mitchell Eisenberg, MD co-founded Sheridan Healthcare in 1994. He has served on the board of directors since inception and as its chairman and CEO from 1994 to November 2012. From November 2012 until November 2013 he served as its executive chairman and then as a director until the completion of the merger of Sheridan into AmSurg in July 2014. During his tenure as chairman and CEO, Dr. Eisenberg was instrumental in their multiple financial transactions, including an IPO in 1995 and four separate private equity transactions, including TA Associates, Vestar Capital Partners, JW Childs and Hellman and Friedman. Under his leadership as CEO, Sheridan Healthcare grew from a single local practice to a national company in 23 states. Since 2006, Dr. Eisenberg serves on the Foundation Boards of Memorial Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, both of which are in Hollywood, Florida. He served as chairman of both foundation boards from 2011-2014 and currently sits on the executive committee of each as the immediate past chair. In November 2012, Dr. Eisenberg co-founded EG Advisors, LLC. On December 19, 2013, he co-founded Advanced Recovery Systems (ARS), an integrated behavioral health company specializing in the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, and associated mental health issues. He is currently co-CEO and co-chairman of ARS, partnering with Goldman Sachs private equity in this entity. Dr. Eisenberg also serves as an operating partner for J.W. Childs Fund IV since March 2014. Dr. Eisenberg graduated cum laude from Muhlenberg College in 1972. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1976, the same year he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), the national medical honor society. Dr. Eisenberg completed his residency in internal medicine at New England Deaconess Hospital and his anesthesia residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Both programs are associated with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Eisenberg is board certified in both internal medicine and anesthesiology. Jonathan Eisenberg - COO

Jonathan Eisenberg oversees acquisitions, development and marketing for ARS. Prior to joining ARS in April 2014, Jonathan worked in Credit Suisse's Mergers and Acquisitions departments across a wide range of industries including healthcare, technology and consumer / retail. Representative transactions included Neiman Marcus' sale from TPG and Warburg Pincus to Ares Capital for $6 billion, Inhibitex's sale to Bristol Myers Squibb for $2.5 billion, Coastal Energy's sale to CEPSA for $2.2 billion and Beam's sale to Suntory for $16 billion. He also has prior experience working at Skadden, Arps and in the Southern District of New York. Jonathan graduated from New York University with a dual degree in law and business. Prior to graduate school, he helped to develop the operations department for Sheridan Healthcare, the nation/s largest anesthesia practice management company, a subsidiary of Amsurg Corp.

Josh Gold

As the Vice President of Corporate Development at Advanced Recovery Systems, Josh Gold applies his extensive expertise in finance, business operations, and corporate strategy gained from over a decade of experience in the industry. Prior to joining ARS, Josh refined his professional competencies in several notable organizations. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at Creative Agency Services Team, the Director of Finance & Consumer Insights at Enzymedica, and Financial Analyst at United Technologies. Josh is an active Certified Public Accountant and holds advanced academic qualifications. Keith Atchison

Keith Atchison is a Healthcare Revenue Cycle Executive with over 25 years of experience working as a subject matter expert in revenue cycle and managed care contracting. A graduate from the PGM School of Business with additional education in health science at the University of Phoenix. Speaker and Educator at a number of HFMA Seminars throughout the US and Author of Denials Management Prevention within the Florida Medical Business Journal. Over the past 25 years, Keith has worked and consulted with some of the largest healthcare systems in the Country, from California to Puerto Rico before joining Advanced Recovery Systems in 2015. Keith is responsible for the success of the ARS' revenue management teams, including provider enrollment and credentialing, managed care contracting, financial counseling, billing, collections, cash management, medical records, and customer service.

Laura Clarke is the Senior Vice President of Operations for Advanced Recovery Systems. Laura is responsible for overseeing the successful management of each ARS treatment facility and recovery residence, always prioritizing quality patient care, above all else. Laura has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has worked with hundreds of medical and clinical providers across the country to maximize efficiency, productivity and satisfaction of clients. Lewis Gold - Chairman

Lewis Gold, MD Co-Founded Sheridan Healthcare in 1994 and was Executive Vice Chairman and on the board of directors of Sheridan Healthcare. Dr. Gold served on the board of directors since the company's inception and was instrumental in their multiple financial transactions, including an IPO in 1995 and four private equity sales since 1994. Dr. Gold was Executive Vice President from 1994 to 1999 while Sheridan Healthcare was publicly traded on NASDAQ (1995-1999). At Sheridan, Dr. Gold negotiated four separate private equity transactions including TA Associates, Vestar Capital, JW Childs and Hellman and Friedman. Under his leadership, Sheridan Healthcare grew from a single local practice to a national company in 23 states. Sheridan Healthcare has enjoyed significant revenue and EBITDA growth each year since 1994. After retiring from Sheridan Healthcare in November 2012,Dr. Gold co-founded EG Advisors, LLC, and on December 19, 2013, he co-founded Advanced Recovery Systems (ARS), an integrated behavioral health company specializing in the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, and associated mental health issues. Marta L Nelson

Marta L. Nelson, RN, B.A., is the Chief Nursing Officer for Advanced Recovery Systems based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ms. Nelson is responsible for maintaining excellence, quality and safety in patient care and Nursing best practice in all Advanced Recovery Systems' facilities. Ms. Nelson has over 30 years experience in Nursing and Behavioral Health Care. She has strong medical and surgical nursing skills as well as over 20 years of experience working with substance abuse, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. She has had the experience of working with all age groups of the patient population, from children to geriatrics. Prior to joining Advanced Recovery Systems, she served as the Compliance and Performance Improvement Director of a large behavioral health facility. In this role, she focused on provision of quality patient centered care in an environment that prioritized safety and security while adhering to ethical and legal standards. A Summa Cum Laude graduate from Christopher Newport University, in Virginia, Ms. Nelson received her B.A. degree in English. She has a well-rounded background in communication skills. She received her RN from Passavant Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Nelson resides in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

Nanci Stockwell

A dynamic leader and award-winning business strategist, Nanci Stockwell brings years of industry experience in behavioral health care to her role at Advanced Recovery Systems. Her dedication to increased operational efficiency and customer engagement encourages new levels of corporate excellence focused on a comprehensive continuum of rehabilitative care. Nanci is also a licensed clinical social worker. Before joining the Advanced Recovery Systems team, she managed a network of behavioral health care centers in California, coordinating facility and program development. In addition to being a therapist and family counselor, Nanci's past experience includes division management of sales and operations and spearheading clinical services. She also worked as a program director and coordinator for behavioral health care companies across the country.

Paul Sorensen - CFO

Paul has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience. Paul graduated with a bachelor's degree at Philadelphia University and received his MBA at Widener University. Prior to joining ARS, Paul served as the CFO for EyeCare Services Partners, a private equity owned vertically integrated physician eye care practice. He also served as the CFO for Home Solutions, a private equity owned provider of acute and chronic infusion services to patients in the home. Paul also served as the CFO for a $400 million privately held diversified manufacturing company that was eventually sold to private equity.

Robert Fishman

Robert Fishman is the vice president of admissions at Advanced Recovery Systems, a position he has held since May of 2013. Robert prioritizes customer service by ensuring a seamless experience for patients, insurance providers and other partners. Before joining the ARS team, he was the admissions director for The Recovery Place. Robert has been in recovery for 10 years, which allows him to personally relate to the daily struggles of substance use disorder. With a decade of experience in behavioral healthcare, he has a passion for being the first step in the recovery process and helping people receive life-saving treatment.

Samuel Winikoff

Sam Winikoff serves as Advance Recovery System's Chief Compliance Officer. In a prior role with a nationwide behavioral healthcare provider, Sam was instrumental in overseeing legal and regulatory compliance matters, reshaping corporate compliance, and managing state licensing across multiple facilities. His initiatives not only streamlined processes but also resulted in substantial financial savings. Before this, Sam honed his skills at top-tier law firms in Florida, where he provided legal representation to behavioral health care providers, addressing their diverse legal and compliance challenges. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Sam's engagement in several legal associations demonstrates his commitment to upholding industry standards. This includes his role as co-chair of the privacy subcommittee for the American Health Law Association's Behavioral Health Practice Group and his active participation in the Florida Bar's Health Law Section. Beyond his core professional roles, Sam is deeply committed to community engagement and pro bono work.
