Winner of several teaching and research awards he has also won the most prestigious academic award for producing impactful managerial research at the 73rd Annual Academy of Management. Working with research team involving Professor Joseph Lampel, Dr. Aneesh Banerjee and Dr. Pushkar Jha, he has helped shape UK government's policy on employee ownership. The impact of policy shaping work has resulted in several reports from 2010 to 2018 including one commissioned by UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The research has been recognised as one of the seminal impact studies by REF in UK. This evidence base played an important role in the launch of a new UK government policy to encourage growth in the employee ownership sector and greater diversity of business models in the UK economy, including the injection of £75M annually to support transition to employee ownership.

André Spicer

André Spicer is Professor of Organisational Behaviour and the Head of the Faculty of Management. He is an expert in the areas of Organisational Behaviour, Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility. Professor Spicer is originally from Aotearoa/New Zealand. He began his studies at the University of Otago and holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne in Australia. Prior to joining City, he was a Professor of Organization Studies at the University of Warwick. He has been a visiting professor at London Business School, the Kellogg School at Northwestern, McGill University, Lund University, University of St Gallen and the University of Sydney. Professor Spicer is an award winning teacher. He has worked with students at all levels - from first year under-graduates to top level executives in large organisations. Bobby Banerjee is Professor of Management and Associate Dean of Research & Enterprise at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass). He was also Director of the Executive PhD program from 2013 to 2019. Charles Baden-Fuller is the Centenary Professor of Strategy and leader of the Strategy Group at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), ranked Global Top Ten by the Financial Times MSc survey of 2009 and top ten by the Financial Times MBA survey of 2011. He is famous for his strategy insights into the management of mature firms written up in many academic articles and his (coauthored) Harvard Business Press 'Rejuvenating the Mature Business'. He is also well known for his work on networked organisations and the management of young high technology firms, particularly in drug development-biotechnology. His current research examines Business Models: what they are, how they can be improved and how they can be deployed in an increasingly digitalized world. This work is supported by a team of academics based at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), Sussex University, LSE, CREATE-Glasgow, Grenoble EM, and the Wharton School; any by more than £1.5 million of research funding from RCUK, EU and Mack Institute-Wharton School.
