Dr. Mihailidis is the Scientific Director & CEO of AGE-WELL. He is also the Associate Vice-President for International Partnerships at the University of Toronto and a Professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and in the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, with a cross appointment in the Department of Computer Science. Dr. Mihailidis has been conducting research in the field of technology and environments to support older adults for the past 17 years, having published over 200 journal papers, conference papers, and abstracts in this field. Dr. Mihailidis is also very active in the rehabilitation engineering profession, currently as the Immediate Past-President for RESNA.

Andrew Downes

Major General (retired) Andrew Downes is a Veteran with 31 years of military service in multiple clinical, administrative and leadership roles. At retirement in 2020, he was the Surgeon General and Commander of the Canadian Forces Health Services Group. He is a Family Physician and Canadian Certified Physician Executive. Dr. Downes has degrees in science and medicine from the University of Manitoba, where he also completed his Family Medicine residency. He has a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas, and he also undertook an Aerospace Medicine residency with the US Air Force. Andrew is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians, an honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and an Officer of the Order of Military Merit.

Anne Martin-Matthews

Anne Martin-Matthews is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on aging and old age, social care and health, and home care for older adults. Dr. Martin-Matthews has held two roles with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR): as Scientific Director of the Institute of Aging (2004-2011), and as Acting Vice-President, Research, Knowledge Translation and Ethics (2017-2018). While Scientific Director, she was a strategic champion for the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), established IA's Mobility in Aging strategic initiative, and launched CIHR's Summer Program in Aging. With a PhD in Sociology from McMaster University, Dr. Martin-Matthews holds honourary degrees from Newcastle University (UK) and her alma mater, Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has received Killam and national awards for her excellence in student mentoring, and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. She serves in advisory roles for Finland's Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, the Health Data Research Network Canada, and the Consortium on Analytics for Data-Driven Decision Making: Developing Talent for Population Analytics in Aging Societies (CAnD3). In 2018, she was inducted as an Officer of the Order of Canada, in recognition of her research contributions on aging.

Caron Leid

Ms. Leid is Vice-Chair of AGE-WELL's Older Adult and Caregiver Advisory Committee. She spent almost two decades as the primary caregiver for her mother who had Alzheimer's disease. Ms. Leid is the author of Alzheimer's: What they forget to tell you. Her book has been featured on Chapters, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and international book stores. Ms. Leid is licensed with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. She has worked in the area of counselling since 2003 and has experience in research, teaching, supervision and psychotherapy. Additional training she has completed includes grief and loss, hospice, life-coaching, group work, compassion fatigue, burnout and virtual therapy. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education.

Dr. Moulton, a resident of Victoria, BC for the past 30 years, began her career in allopathic medicine and psychology. A graduate of the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Moulton, earned her doctorate in Oriental Medicine before personal experience caring for her father with Alzheimer disease turned her focus to dementia. During her career spanning nearly two decades, Dr. Moulton has become well known for having been a personal caregiver to family members as well as working professionally with hundreds of family, friend, and professional care partners. She is recognized in the older adult care field as an innovator, educator, and now consultant.

Nicole Voisin is the Administration and Operations Coordinator at AGE-WELL NCE. She provides administrative support and operational planning assistance to the AGE-WELL Network Management Office (NMO). Nicole completed her Bachelor of Arts at York University where she double majored in English and Professional Writing. Prior to joining the AGE-WELL Team, Nicole was the Project Specialist at George Brown College in the Office of Anti-Racism, Equity and Human Rights Services.

Olive Bryanton

Olive Bryanton (Hampshire, PEI) joined OACAC in 2018. As an educator and passionate advocate for older adults, Olive was instrumental in the establishment of the first multi-purpose Seniors Centre on PEI, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this summer. She was also instrumental in establishment of the Seniors College, affiliated with the University of Prince Edward Island and served as the first president. In 2000, Olive received an Honorary Degree from the University of Prince Edward Island for her advocacy work with older adults and lifelong learning. In 2012. Olive was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Federal Minister of State for Seniors Hon, Alice Wong, for her contributions to seniors provincially and federally. In 2017, Olive was appointed by the Minister of Health PEI to serve as an executive advisor for the development of the recent Seniors Health and Wellness Strategy for Prince Edward Island. She is currently a lifelong learner and defended her PhD in 2018.

Phil Davis

Phil Davis is an AGE-WELL Senior volunteer and co-chair of the Older Adult and Caregiver Advisory Committee. He has contributed to AGE-WELL project and HQP mentoring and supported review teams for SIP and Midterm reviews. Before retirement Mr. Davis spent over 35 years working on a variety of aerospace programs. As a program coordinator for American Competitiveness Institute, a Not For Profit corporation associated with the US Office of Naval Research, he led programs in technology development and military-civilian technology transfer. Previously at General Electric Aerospace Group he held various positions in marketing, project engineering, systems engineering and design engineering for a number of surface ship sonar, shipboard communications, military computer, tactical and strategic phased array radar and marine combat systems. Phil and his partner, Joan, live in Burlington. He has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. His interests traveling, building model boats and machines, and writing.

Mr. Beleno is the Co-Chair of AGE-WELL's Older Adult and Caregiver Advisory Committee. He is an active advocate for dementia, caregiving, aging, and research communities. Being a caregiver to his father who lived with Alzheimer's for 10+ years to age in place at home until January 2018, Mr. Beleno utilized technology, community, and access to research to support his family's life to live well and as best as possible. In recent years, Mr. Beleno has been called upon to do presentations across Canada and Internationally for Alzheimer's Societies, communities, police, and researchers to share his knowledge on living safely with dementia, caregiving strategies, technology innovation in health care, and patient engagement with research and industry. He is an active member, advisor, and mentor to numerous organizations and educational institutions such as AGE-WELL, Healthcare Excellence Canada, Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), City of Toronto's Seniors Strategy, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), SE Health, and the Translational Research Program (TRP) at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine. He is also on the Board of Directors with the Ontario SPOR Support Unit which is Ontario's catalyst for patient-oriented research. In 2020 he received AGE-WELL's Honorary Fellows Award for his contribution to the AgeTech community.

Sherry Baker

Sherry Baker has owned and operated a private consulting and counselling practice since 1990. She was hired as the Executive Director of the BC Association of Community Response Networks in July 2010. Sherry has sat on, and chaired many provincial, regional and local boards over the years. Sherry was elected to City Council in Chilliwack in the 1980's where she served for 6 years. Sherry has been a Rotarian since 1992. She was awarded the Canada 125 Medal and received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. She has been awarded three Paul Harris Fellowships by Rotary International. She was awarded the "Elder Abuse Awareness to Action Award" by Simon Fraser University Gerontology Research Centre in 2018.
