In 1935 the factory workers of the BF Goodrich Company didn't have a place to go in order to borrow short term small consumer loans. The local banks did not have a desire to lend to them and community thrifts were only there to provide home ownership... As a non-profit financial institution and unlike a local bank or a community bank, our sole purpose is to serve the interests of our members.
