CMSRU continues to achieve significant milestones. In 2019, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) has earned a spot on the U.S. News and World Report "Short List" of the "10 Med Schools With the Lowest Acceptance Rates." CMSRU was ranked No. 10 on the list, behind esteemed programs such as University of California-Los Angeles, Mayo Clinic, Stanford, Georgetown and Brown. We also received the 2019 Spencer Foreman Award for Outstanding Community Engagement by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the accrediting body for U.S. medical schools. The Spencer Foreman award, presented annually to one AAMC-member medical school or teaching hospital, recognizes exceptional programs that go well beyond the traditional role of academic medicine and reach communities whose needs are not being met through the traditional health delivery system.
