HEBRON THEATRE - Key Persons
Ms. Thornburg (Ms. T.) grew up in Austin, Texas and fell in love with Theatre when she joined her middle school theatre troupe. In high school, she competed in UIL OAP and knew she wanted to teach Theatre. That love grew when she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received her B.F.A. in Theatre Studies with K-12 certification in 2018. Right after graduation she was hired by Lewisville ISD to teach Middle School at Arbor Creek Middle School. In the Spring of 2020 she led A.C.T. (Arbor Creek Theatre) to their first UIL placement. She has been the Hebron Theatre Freshman Director since the Fall of 2020.
Mr. Robertson, an Alabama native, raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana has worked in High School theatre since 1978. The fourth of five children to a Music Minister father, Robertson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of North Texas. Mr. Robertson taught theatre at Clear Lake High School for five years, Clear Brook High School for three years, and was the Technical Theatre Director at Flower Mound High School for seven years. A huge fan of Halloween (he gets to build weird decorations), he is thrilled to be at Hebron and back working with High School students after a few years working in the professional world. He has been at Hebron since Thanksgiving 2022. On a side note, he ride a 6' unicycle!
Mr. Crew trained in theatre at Cameron University, Oklahoma (BA Theatre Arts and a BA in Communications,) Texas State University (MA Theatre Arts,) and Texas Tech University (ABD/PhD Fine Arts - Acting/Directing and Arts Administration.) His directing credits include: Chicago at the Country Playhouse, Houston, Texas, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged and Terra Nova at Texas State University, The Little Foxes, Molly Sweeney, the world premiere of Rhymes Under Wrap, Sylvia, Mornings at Seven, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged, Wings, Our Town and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. At Texas Tech he has directed Bus Stop, Pterodactyls, Frank Galati's The Grapes of Wrath and Approaching Zanzibar at Wayland Baptist University. Other directing credits include: The Foreigner at the Southwest Playhouse, The Mousetrap and It's a Wonderful Life at the Lubbock Playhouse, A Raisin in the Sun, Medea, To Burn a Witch, I Never Saw Another Butterfly and A Woman Called Truth at Eastern Hills High School, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and Dancing at Lughnasa at Hillcrest High School, 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse, Picnic, August and Anna, Silent Sky at WT White High School. Mr. Crew and his productions have received many award nominations. In 1998 his production of Kopit's Wings was nominated for the Kennedy Center/ACTF best production and garnered him an Excellence in Directing award. His productions of Bus Stop, Pterodactyls and The Grapes of Wrath at Texas Tech each earned him an Excellence in Directing award. In 2018, Dallas Summer Musicals HSMTA honored Mr. Crew with a Best Director nomination for Hillcrest's You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. In 2022, Dallas Summer Musicals HSMTA honored him with another Best Director nomination for Hebron High Schools production of Legally Blonde, the Musical. Taking a respite from full-time educational theatre from 2005-2008, he served as Managing Director of the Nationally Award-winning Campus Theatre/Theatre Denton. Under his leadership, Theatre Denton's production of Crowns was named Best Production at the AACT national competition in Charlotte, NC. in 2007 ultimately being invited to perform in Heidelberg, Germany. Also, an accomplished actor, Mr. Crew has performed throughout the United States in numerous touring, regional, community and educational productions during his 30+ years in theatre, receiving numerous honors and awards. He has been the Head Director for Hebron Theatre since the Fall of 2021.
