NORLANDS GUNDOGS - Key Persons

COLIN PELHAM

Norlands Gundogs is run and owned by Colin Pelham. Colin is an A-Panel Kennel Club Retriever judge and has been appointed all over Europe every year judging field trials and working tests. He is also a member of 35 gundog clubs and is a very active committee member of his local gundog club. For a number of years, he has been helping them with training sessions, setting tests, judging, and helping at trials and tests. He is also invited as a guest trainer at other gundog clubs in the South of England. "From an early age, I have been involved with shooting and gundogs. I had my first shotgun and gundog, an English Springer Spaniel, at the age of 13. I became more interested in training and trialing about 25 years ago. I have been fortunate to win a number of Novice and Open trials and tests over the years with a number of different dogs that I have bred myself. I made up a FTCH Garendon Laura of Norlands and in 2016 Jake and I competed in the 2016 IGL Retriever Championship at Ampton. In the future, I will continue to trial, train, breed and judge gundogs." Colin regularly runs his own one to one training sessions and group classes helping handlers to gain experience and success, which gives him great pleasure. He has helped at the CLA game fair a number of times and has been in charge of outside events (tests and scurries which are open to the public). Colin also picks up with his team of dogs at a couple of shoots every week during the shooting season. Colin currently has a well-established kennel of Labradors that he uses for picking up, competing, stud services and breeding. His breeding affix is Norlands and he has produced a number of quality dogs over the years. Colin also takes in a small number of dogs for boarding in his kennels and home.
