TYKES Young Carers was established in 1997 to provide support to young carers from across Sutherland. We provide respite and support to young people between the ages of 5 and 18 who care for somebody at home. We aim to make a positive difference in the lives and wellbeing of young carers by raising awareness, offering emotional and practical support and by giving each young carer the opportunity to take a break from their caring role and have fun in a friendly and supportive environment... TYKES Young Carers' Project was established in 1997 to provide support to Young Carers from East Sutherland. TYKES now covers the whole of Sutherland and offers respite and support to young people between the ages of 5 and 25 who have a caring role within their home. We aim to make a positive difference in the lives and wellbeing of Young Carers and their families by offering advice along with emotional and practical support.
