Alexandra McGlade

Alex graduated from the University of Leeds in 2017, having studied Law. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds, with a Masters in Law, Business and Management. During her time at university, Alex was involved with a range of pro-bono activities and was an active member of Leeds Law Society. Before joining CG Professional, Alex worked as a paralegal within the Real Estate team at DLA Piper, based in the Liverpool office. During this role, she worked on a range of leasehold management matters for a wide variety of institutional landlord clients, and was also involved in large scale disposal projects. Alex joined CG Professional to begin her training contract in October 2020. After completing her training contract, Alex qualified into the Employment Team at CG Professional in June 2022. Outside of work, Alex enjoys paddleboarding, skiing and travelling. She also enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends.

Debbie Carr

Debbie originally studied Pharmacology at the University of Sheffield, later completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Certificate at the University of Central Lancashire. Debbie joined CG Professional in 2021 following six years working in other local Lancashire law firms. Debbie specialises in real estate matters including the sale and acquisition of freehold and leasehold property, option agreements, conditional contracts, overage agreements and non-contentious commercial lease matters acting for landlords and tenants. She also has experience of acting for lenders and funders in property finance and in providing corporate support. She has worked for a variety of clients including manufacturing, retail and industry, as well as individual investors. Debbie has particular experience in the healthcare, residential care, supported living and day nursery sectors. During her spare time Debbie enjoys running and hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Didi Ogbo

Didi studied law and graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2012 and completed the Legal Practice Course with a Master's degree in Legal Practice at the University of Law in Manchester in 2013. Didi was previously appointed as General Secretary of the Manchester Trainee Solicitor Group in 2015, whilst she was employed as a paralegal at TLT LLP. Didi completed her training contract with Knights plc in October 2019, having completed seats in commercial litigation, commercial property, debt recovery and employment and qualified as an employment solicitor. Didi joined CG Professional in June 2020 as an Associate Solicitor. Didi has experience in advising on and dealing with a range of employment law issues including: Preparation and review of Employment Contracts, Staff Handbooks and Company Policies Defence of Employment Tribunal claims Advice on day to day employee relations matters such as disciplinaries, grievances and performance management Protecting businesses when it comes to the exit of employees and senior executives.

Hannah Simmons

Hannah graduated with a First Class Law degree in 2021 from the University of Central Lancashire, where she will go on to study the part-time Legal Practice Course in September. During her time at university, Hannah volunteered for the Citizens Advice Bureau, where she provided practical and emotional support to clients. Hannah joined CG Professional in July 2021 as a paralegal within the Employment team. She assists with various duties such as; preparing and reviewing contracts of employment and policies, drafting letters and agreements, dealing with clients, and carrying out legal research. Outside of work, Hannah spends her time socialising with friends and family. She also enjoys walking her two dogs and kayaking in the Lake District.

Jane is a partner in the team with over 25 years' experience, with a particular focus in corporate restructuring and insolvency work. She advises companies, lenders, insolvency practitioners, creditors and debtors on all aspects of restructuring and business support which includes: acquisitions and disposals; directors' duties and board advisory matters; formal insolvency appointments and procedures; insolvency related claims and court applications; banking facilities and refinancing issues; security enhancements and reviews; and recovery of assets. She has been involved in numerous high profile insolvency cases and restructuring assignments, and has substantial experience in connection with the acquisition and disposal of businesses across a range of sectors.

Katy Parkinson

Katy qualified in 2015, having passed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course with Distinctions whilst working as a paralegal and then as a trainee solicitor. She has developed her commercial and technical knowledge working at regional law firms Napthens and Forbes before joining CG Professional in May 2020 as a Senior Associate Solicitor. Katy advises on all day-to-day aspects of the employment life cycle to businesses ranging from SMEs to PLCs. She is very focused on developing relationships with her clients and getting to know their businesses, their objectives and the challenges they face, in order to provide commercial and pragmatic advice and solutions. Katy's focus is always on achieving her clients' desired outcomes and she frequently receives positive feedback from her clients in relation to the commercial advice she has provided. Katy regularly advises clients on large-scale projects including restructures and redundancies, variations to terms and conditions, TUPE transfers and outsourcing arrangements. She enjoys working as part of the team on corporate transactions and has extensive experience of advising management teams and business owners on disposals, mergers and acquisitions. Katy also assists clients with employee exits, the ACAS Early Conciliation process and Employment Tribunal claims. Katy enjoys the technical aspects of employment law and is experienced in delivering bespoke training to her clients to equip them with the knowledge required to effectively deal with HR issues while minimising risk to the business, as well as speaking at events to deliver updates to the business community.

Michelle joined CG Professional as a Senior Associate in 2021 following five years working as an associate in DLA Piper UK LLP's Manchester Real Estate team. Prior to that she was a trainee solicitor at DLA Piper UK LLP completing seats in real estate, corporate, projects and litigation. Michelle advises on commercial property matters and has a wide range of experience including, sales and acquisitions of land for residential and commercial developers, assisting on joint venture development transactions, sales and acquisitions of multi-let commercial properties, non-contentious landlord and tenant matters with experience of acting for either the landlord or tenant and providing corporate and finance support. Michelle has worked for a number of different types of client including international corporations, lenders, institutional landlords and individual investors across a wide range of sectors. During her spare time, Michelle enjoys long distance trail running and has completed a number of ultramarathons in the UK and abroad. Outside of running Michelle enjoys spending time with her two dogs and horses.

Stephanie has a wide range of experience, including, freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, site set ups, plot sales, new build properties and complex high value residential matters. She has worked on behalf of a number of different types of client; including financial institutions, landlords, overseas investors and high net worth individuals. During her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her two children, and paddleboarding in the Lake District.

Tom Prince

Tom is a pragmatic and accomplished Commercial Contracts lawyer with experience in various aspects of contract work underpinning business-to-business and business-to-consumer arrangements and IT contracts. He has also provided transactional assistance on corporate mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships. He has experience of advising clients across various sectors in relation to a range of commercial contracts including the supply and purchase of goods and services, outsourcing, distribution and agency arrangements and a wide range of IT contracts. Tom is used to working closely and collaboratively with clients and has undertaken a number of secondments to client organisations. Tom trained and qualified at DLA Piper in Liverpool as part of their Commercial Practice Group where he developed a reputation for technical expertise and commercially focused advice working on high-profile and complex commercial transactions. He moved to DWF in 2019 where he worked extensively with retail clients and food and beverage clients in relation to wholesale updates to their commercial contract suites.

Outside of work, William enjoys socialising with friends and attending concerts and festivals. William is also a keen football fan and enjoys going to watch Blackburn Rovers each week.
