Joined the union in 1980 as a Vocational Counselor at JEVS, helping people with emotional and social disabilities become job ready. He was voted Shop Steward, Vice-President and President of the Local before election as DC 47 and then re-elected as President of Local 1739. From a union family, Fred has been reading and negotiating contracts for 40 years. He feels responsible for protecting people's standard of living. Collective bargaining and negotiating fair terms of your employment is "union strong".

Union member since 1980. First joined the ACT division as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. James was a shop steward when the union went on strike in 1982. He has held positions as 1739 Vice President and now Treasurer. After many years as a hands-on advocate, handling grievances and fighting for member rights in labor management meetings, he is now focused on maintaining the financial solvency of the union and is part of contract negotiations. He monitors the impact of the BECK decision on union operations.
Has been union member since in 1992 when he held a position as Case Manager for the JEVS welfare to work program, removing barriers to employment and helping people to become self-sufficient. He has been elected Shop Steward, Chief Shop Steward. In 2014, he began full time work for the union, currently serving as Local 1739 Business Manager. He is dedicated to advocating for the rights of 1739 members under the contract and believes union strength comes from unity.

Has been a union member for 35 years. Started her career with JEVS as a clerk and now has data entry duties in JEVS' Quality Assurance Department. She first served the union as a trustee, rising through the ranks to become an at-large member and now member of the Executive Board. She believes solidarity and unity are cornerstones of union strength and sees her role as a level-headed peacemaker who makes sure people are treated fairly, giving support to membership by keeping the big picture in view.
Joined the union 15.5 years ago as a Direct Support Professional for SPIN. Rob was elected Shop Steward within a year. His work for SPIN involved everything from problem solving to opening new worksites. He has been a Steward, Chief Steward and Union Delegate. Currently he serves a Union Representative for SPIN and is a delegate for AFSCME and the AFL-CIO. Recently he was appointed by Governor Wolf as member of the PA Rehabilitation Council.

Joined the union 21 years ago. She first joined the staff at JEVS as a clerk and held other positions as payroll clerk, front desk operator and administrative assistant. For 8 years she has been Patient Benefits Coordinator. She is a Chief Shop Steward as well as a union delegate. Through the years, she has earned a Bachelor's degree from Philadelphia University. Her main responsibility is to uphold the union contract and to ensure her members are treated with the respect and moral integrity they are due.
