CAAT PENSION PLAN - Key Persons
Adam joined CAAT in 2019 and oversees all aspects of the Plan's global private equity portfolio, with a focus on origination, execution and portfolio management. Adam brings over 16 years of investment management experience to the Plan with a specialization in private asset classes and alternative investments. Adam serves on several corporate boards and the advisory committees for partnerships within CAAT's private equity portfolio. Adam is a CFA charterholder and earned a Master of Finance degree from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University.
Andrew brings over 10 years of experience in DB pension sustainability and risk management from both consulting and life insurance industries. As Director, Funding and Risk Management, he is responsible for providing expertise in funding policy, asset liability modelling, strategic risk management, and related governance for the purposes of mitigating risk and identifying strategic opportunities in relation to the Plan. Andrew graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a CFA charterholder.

Angela brings over 30 years of experience in pension administration. With CAAT since 2013, Angela is responsible for the Service Delivery and Quality Assurance teams, ensuring delivery of exemplary, client-focused service to employers and members. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
Asif Haque - Chief Investment Officer
Asif brings over 25 years of experience in finance and investments to the CAAT Pension Plan. As CIO, Asif leads CAAT's investment team in managing a portfolio designed to generate sufficient long-term returns to keep benefits secure. Prior to his appointment as CIO, Asif was responsible for CAAT's public market investments program. Asif sits on the Board of Directors of the Pension Investment Association of Canada, and serves as Chair of its Member Services Committee. In addition, Asif is an Investment Committee Member of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Nunavut Tunngavik, Inc. He earned a master's degree in economics from the University of Toronto, and is a CFA charterholder.

Since joining as CEO in April 2009, Derek has applied his expertise in funding, risk management, strategic planning, governance, and stakeholder relations to strengthen the CAAT Plan, and more recently, guide its growth to become one of Canada's most sustainable pension plans.
In addition to leading one of Canada's model pension plans, he plays an active role in various industry groups, notably as Co-Chair of the Canadian Public Pension Leadership Council (CPPLC) and as a founding faculty member of the Masters of Trust Management Standards of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and Pensions (MTMS IFEBP). He is a member of the Pension Policy Council at the C.D. Howe Institute and former member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM).
Derek's pension management expertise and engaging presentation style make him a sought-after speaker in Canada and abroad on a variety of topics, including the need for national aging and retirement strategies. He holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
