The objective of this world first program is to transform quality of care and improve outcomes for those affected by voice disorders... The newly created voice program at the University of Sydney will establish the reputation of the University as a leading centre of excellence for research into laryngeal disorders in the Asia-Pacific region... The ability to communicate through speech is an essential life skill and a vital part of what distinguishes us as humans. We use our voices to articulate our thoughts, express our feelings and relay our needs. Without access to proper care and treatment, voice disorders can have a debilitating and severe impact upon quality of life.
