Andy Kappel-Baker

Biography Andy got into the firearm industry as a gunsmith,developing the Shooting Innovations Recoil Reduction System. He later went on to create their own line of high-end AR barrels. In his free time away from Shooting Innovations, Andy spends his time as a Chaplin for the local fire department, coaching troubled teens as a youth pastor and helping out at Guardian Arms with super specialized gunsmith projects. When he finds time outside of that, Andy competes in firearms matches and helps out with training. You wouldn't know it from his full head of hair, but Andy is stressed 24/7.

Caleb Martin

Job Titles:
  • Protection Specialist
Biography Caleb Martin joined the Marines and was deployed to Afghanistan. Once out of the Marines, Caleb became a force protection specialist and served on a Federal Security Detail protecting National Critical Infrastructure. While working as a Force Protection Specialist, Caleb obtained numerous firearms instructor and armorer certifications. Caleb is currently an active-duty police officer and Law Enforcement firearms instructor. At Guardian Arms, he functions as a trainer and armorer. Caleb is Batman and is currently in the process of learning how to smile.

Christopher Forrest

Biography Christopher Forrest has been a competitive 3 gun, multigun and precision shooter for the last 10 years. He has placed in the top 15% of several large matches including High Desert, Area 2 UML Championship, Northwest Multigun, Vision X and SMM3G. He has been a match director for several years including running a state level UML match and numerous local matches. Chris has been building his own competition guns for his personal use and is extremely proficient at assembling, diagnosing and troubleshooting any modern firearm. At Guardian Arms, Chris serves as an Armorer, Trainer and salesman, handling many of the custom builds, troubleshooting, cleaning and maintenance of firearms. He also does a lot of the construction, IT and other random tasks around the shop. Has epic beard.

Edgar Salazar

Biography Edgar joined the Marines and deployed on 3 combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan as an infantryman. After his deployments, Edgar attended FMTC (Formal Marksmanship Training Center) at Camp Pendleton and became a Primary Marksmanship Instructor in the Marine Corps. During his time as an instructor, Edgar trained over 1100 Marine Corps recruits and active-duty Marines. After the Marine Corps, Edgar worked as a Private Security Contractor in Afghanistan conducting force protection inspections and provided security for high value individuals. Edgar than went through training to become a police officer and is now a Violent Crimes Detective. Edgar is also a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor. As a police officer, Edgar has investigated numerous cases ranging from burglaries, armed robberies, assaults, stabbings, and drive-by shootings. Edgar has taken the knowledge gathered from investigating these crimes and has molded that information into an effective training program that we employ at Guardian Arms. Edgar has been known to confuse his boot with keys when opening doors.

Rudy Mendez

Biography Rudy Mendez has always had a love for firearms, especially the training and knowledge that comes with it. Starting with learning to shoot at a very young age, Rudy went on to serve in the United States Army as M1 Armor Crewman (Tanker). Once out of the Military, Rudy managed a well known gun store where he learned more about firearms retail, received in depth ATF paperwork training, and learned the ins and out of the firearms industry. Rudy manages all ATF documentation at Guardian Arms and developed several SOP's to keep Guardian Arms running smoothly. Rudy assisted in shaping the Guardian Arms storefront into what it is today. Rudy is top notch in customer service. He routinely assists customers in finding the right firearm and is selfless as he performs duties wherever needed. Doesn't believe in smiling.
