Govt. Serchhip College is an Under Graduate degree college established in 1973. It was affiliated to North Eastern Hill University in 1975. The college was provincialised on 1st January 1989 and subsequently affiliated to Mizoram University when the university was established in 2001. The college has been placed under section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide letter No.F.No.8-93/86 (CPP-1) at 27.10.1990.
