Jolene Harris established Harris Attorneys in 2012.
Having qualified as an attorney and conveyancer, Jolene commenced legal practice at Ashersons Attorneys in 2001, becoming their first female partner since their inception in 1920.
Jolene is a general practitioner who practices extensively in all aspects of commercial law, negotiating and drafting local and international commercial agreements. She also specialises in the law relating to the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
She has a significant family law practice, dealing with divorces, maintenance disputes, and care and contact matters.
Amongst others, Jolene represents companies involved in the entertainment industry, including various stills and film production companies, locally and abroad. Her fields of practice also include labour law, wills, trusts and administration of deceased estates.
Romy Vivienne Stansfield joined Harris Attorneys as a consultant in January 2013.
Romy specialises in the administration of deceased estates, commercial and contractual law, and has extensive experience in the areas of compliance relating to the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. She has also gained extensive experience in the drafting of distribution, software development and service level agreements.
Having obtained her BA (Hons) and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town, Romy commenced her articles of clerkship with Ashersons Attorneys in 2005 where she met and worked closely with Jolene Harris.
Romy was admitted as an attorney in 2007.
