Andrew Browning is the Research Web and Data Platforms Manager for the Office of Advanced Research Computing. He is also on the advisory board for the Department of Computer Engineering & Computer Science at California State University Long Beach. He previously served on the board of Santa Monica Dragons Lacrosse, served as President of Santa Monica Vikings Youth Lacrosse, Served as the Chair for the Santa Monica Field Sports Advisory Council, and was a Candidate for Santa Monica City Council in 2020. Before coming to UCLA, Andrew worked in IT global services specializing in the lean delivery of IT services for the healthcare staffing industry. Andrew also worked as a researcher at California State University Long Beach focussing on intermodal drayage efficiency and its externalities and was a California Space Grant Scholar working on the California Launch Vehicle Initiative. Andrew, along with other members of OARC, is currently working on an NSF/NIST funded symposium entitled, "Strategy for Resilient Manufacturing Ecosystems." Andrew and his team are working on a Proctor and Gamble funded dental recommender engine for the UCLA School of Dentistry, and they are also working with CESMII performing verification of their proprietary platform. The lead developer of the OARC Web Team, Chris has developed, designed and maintained numerous websites and applications. Today, Chris builds sites primarily on the Drupal Content Management System. Davida Johnson is the Managing Director for the UCLA Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC). She has overall responsibilities for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the OARC providing leadership, management, and vision to ensure the organization has the right balance of operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and diverse talent able to maximize their contributions and effectiveness within the organization. She also has oversight over the development and tactical implementation of the ongoing strategic roadmap of the OARC working across the unit leadership in support of the research mission of the university. In addition, Davida oversees public-private partnership programs that aim to develop collaborative research initiatives within the local and national information technology communities in both public and private sectors. Having earned a joint Bachelor of Science degree from M.I.T. in Humanities and Computer Science Engineering, Davida's diverse background helps to bridge the gap and communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. She is an avid supporter of women in technology and co-leads the UCLA Women in Technology initiative, which she launched in 2015. Davida began her career in the Center for Theoretical Studies of Physical Systems at Clark-Atlanta University, where she worked as a research assistant developing software programs to help build enemy target detection algorithms to identify foreign military tanks, funded by the Army Research Laboratory. Eleanor Koehl

Eleanor Koehl supports the development and execution of OARC's research facilitation practices to enhance digitally enabled research opportunities for UCLA faculty and graduate students. She works closely with the OARC Research Technology Groups, the Institute for Digital Research in Education (IDRE), and other campus partners to promote OARC's mission of fostering data-driven research at UCLA. She was previously Associate Director for Outreach and Education Services for the HathiTrust Research Center and Digital Scholarship Librarian at HathiTrust. Throughout her career, she has advanced research capabilities for digital scholarship such as through contributions to grant-funded, national-level projects, including developing a professional development curriculum on text analysis for librarians, leading a national forum on research with use-restricted data, and collaborating on a summer institute about legal literacies for text data mining. Francesca Albrezzi

Francesca Albrezzi, PhD, works at the intersection of humanities research and technology. As a digital research consultant at the Office of Advanced Research Computing, she assists faculty with their digital research needs, from ideation to execution and publication. Her dissertation "Virtual Actualities: Technology, Museums, and Immersion" (2019) interrogates modes of publishing, display, and information capture in museums and archives that illustrate a break from "traditional" models, and argues that digital modalities provide a distinctly different paradigm for epistemologies of art and culture that offer greater contextualized understandings. More broadly, Francesca's research explores spectrums of immersive experience within GLAM organizations as offered by technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360 photo and video capture. She also has significant experience developing digital tools, such as The Getty Scholars' Workspace™ for conducting collaborative arts research and preservation. She was a HASTAC Scholar, has worked and taught within the field of Digital Humanities, Art History, and Cultural Studies for over a decade, and helped to produce an online digital art history textbook. Howard Goldberg was appointed VP of Business Development of the Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII) in May of 2018. Howard was most recently the Executive Vice President of Operations for Pressure Profile Systems, a developer of tactile sensors that enable the "sense of touch" for electronic products, where he drove the launch of the most complex product in the history of the company and achieved a 14% increase in record shipment revenues. Additionally, Howard was the former President and COO of Interlink Electronics (NASDAQ: LINK) a globally recognized a manufacturer of human-machine interface sensors, where he achieved a 36% increase in revenues. Jimmy Suo

Jimmy is currently a system administrator for UCLA's HPC cluster Hoffman2. He's been in this role for almost 10 years now and has played a major role in its phenomenal growth from the beginning. He has been tasked many times in spec'ing out multi-million-dollar HPC hardware, from procurement to finally deployment and integration. His most recent project was to architect a low-cost commodity GPU platform for machine learning/AI. He was able to build a cost effective and robust off-the-shelve solution at a fraction of the cost of a vendor solution. Jimmy's ability to assess technology needs and recommend solutions is one of his strongest attributes. Additionally, he is the day-to-day operations manager for multiple datacenters.

John Dyck

John comes to CESMII from Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK), where he was the Global Director of Software Business Development. In this role, John helped drive the transformation of Rockwell Automation to a leadership position in software for manufacturing. He was responsible for strategy development, and the acquisition and development of capabilities needed to transform their software portfolio. John developed and began the execution of a multi-year software acquisition strategy to shape Rockwell Automation's software portfolio. He was a key leader in shaping their Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) strategy and was responsible for their global Strategic Alliance with Microsoft (Nasdaq "MSFT" @microsoft). Prior to his role at Rockwell Automation, John led the Product Management and Marketing teams for GE Fanuc (now GE Digital), (NYSE: GE) with responsibilities for the entire Production Management software portfolio (Proficy), including Workflow, Historian, Portal, Tracker, MES and many other software modules. He developed close relationships with many large, key manufacturers. Mr. Dyck played a key role in building a software startup in the Manufacturing Intelligence space. As Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development for ActivPlant, he was instrumental in raising over $20M in VC funding and developed and implemented a successful sales and channel strategy, resulting in significant revenue growth. In addition to his manufacturing software and business experience, John has been actively involved in MESA (Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association), a CESMII partner. John served as Chairman of the Board from 2013 - 2015. In his new role, John will oversee CESMII overall business and operations, continuing to drive CESMII's technology and smart manufacturing objectives to promote energy and productivity efficient practices to US manufacturers.
