St. Tammany Health System was founded in 1954 as St. Tammany Parish Hospital by a group of local community activists who saw a need to establish a local healthcare center dedicated to the health and well-being of residents on the Northshore... While our Covington hospital is still very much at the center of what we do, we've grown to become so much more than that. With dozens of sites established throughout the region to bring healthcare directly into our communities, we have become a wide-ranging, multi-disciplinary nonprofit healthcare organization - thus the changing of our name to St. Tammany Health System in December 2019.
