The Lobster Place was founded in 1974 when Rod and Joan MacGregor were among the first to bring live lobster from the docks of Maine to the New York City restaurant trade... Lobster Place Wholesale is the only full-service seafood processor/distributor in New York City to achieve SQF certification. This means that our HACCP, sanitation, and food safety procedures are audited by a third-party inspector annually to ensure you receive properly labeled, fresh, clean seafood that makes food safety a top priority... In the 4+ decades since, Lobster Place has expanded in every way, and we now serve a full line of fresh, live, and frozen seafood to hundreds of commercial kitchens throughout the tri-state area. What's more, we've walked a mile in every chef's shoes as we operate our own restaurant - Cull and Pistol Oyster Bar - and retail seafood hall - Lobster Place Seafood Market - in the center of Chelsea Market.
