This site was created to try and solve a problem. There is currently no consistency in pricing between tax preparers. In fact, at times there is a lack of consistency between the pricing of tax returns at a single CPA firm. Then you throw in differences in experience, the size of the firm, or the complexity of an individual tax return and it is no surprise that tax return pricing can be an art form... On the flip side, however, it can be very difficult for a professional tax preparer to give a new potential client a good quote. Oftentimes professionals are in the dark about what is really involved until the tax documents start coming in or undisclosed situations arise.
