Amanda Armeni has been a full-time faculty member at Hiram since 2009, teaching a variety of accounting courses including Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, and Professional Responsibilities. Prior to her time at Hiram, Armeni worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young, LLP, and earned her CPA license in 2006. She had a unique experience in public accounting as she was able to work on clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, insurance, and relocation services. Armeni brings as much of her experience in public accounting to her courses as she can in order to create a more dynamic classroom experience for the students.

Andrew White is an assistant professor of psychology and sport management and serves as the director for the Scarborough School of Business and Communication. His area of expertise is sport, exercise and performance psychology with emphases on the psychology of sport-related injury and mental skills training for sport performance.
White's teaching interests include sport and exercise psychology, abnormal psychology, history and philosophy of sport, and general psychology. He also enjoys working with students on their independent research or providing opportunities for students to assist with his research projects.

Carly Arthur is a Danville, Ohio native and is an alumna of Baldwin Wallace University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Throughout her time at Baldwin Wallace, Arthur filled many roles, but her position within Student Ambassadors helped spark her interest for alumni engagement.
At Hiram College, she plans alumni gatherings across the country and other events, such as the Day with Hiram golf outing and the Hollinger Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. She also serves as the liaison to alumni reunion classes to assist with class gifts and events at the annual Alumni Weekend. In addition, Arthur coordinates the student calling program to assist fundraising efforts for the Hiram Fund
Arthur previously worked with the American Red Cross, where she conducted research for disaster relief services and led volunteer recruitment programs.

Colin Anderson studied the one of a kind Great Books curriculum at St. John's College as an undergraduate-the equivalent to majoring in Philosophy and the History of Science and Mathematics with minors in Comparative Literature and Classics. After graduation he enrolled and studied the history of philosophy with Adriaan Peperzak with an emphasis on ancient greek philosophy. His dissertation focused on the relationships between "cognition" and "desire" in Plato's view of moral understanding.
After several years at Northern Illinois University, he found the teaching position at a liberal arts college he was looking for and joined Hiram College's faculty in 2002.

Douglas M. Brattebo is Professor of Political Science and Director of the James A. Garfield Center for the Study of the American Presidency. Among the courses Brattebo teaches are: Ethics in U.S. Foreign Policy; Introduction to American Government; The American Presidency and the Executive Branch; Scandals and Constitutional Crises in the Modern Presidency; Understanding Trump and Trumpism; The U.S. Congress; Political Parties and Interest Groups; Constitutional Law I: Governmental Powers and the Federal System; Constitutional Law II: Civil Liberties and Civil Rights; The Virtues, Leadership, and Legacy of Abraham Lincoln; and Engaged Citizenship. A world traveler, he also leads study away courses to Australia, New Zealand, and the ancient forests of the U.S. Pacific Coast. Brattebo has won campus-wide teaching awards at both Hiram College (2016) and the U.S. Naval Academy (2002). Among his more than thirty publications are six co-edited books.

Emily Waples is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Humanities whose interdisciplinary research and teaching examines the intersections of narrative, health, and social justice in the United States from the 18th century to the present. Analyzing cultural documents from antebellum newspaper articles and medical texts to contemporary cancer blogs and zombie films, her classes challenge students to interrogate the cultural constructions of health, illness, and disability. In courses like Going Viral: Epidemics in American History, Literature, and Culture, Professor Waples integrates historical, literary-analytical, and sociological methods to explore the ways in which epidemic disease events have shaped American ideas of citizenship and social belonging. A dark humor enthusiast, she also loves to teach first-year writing in classes like Apocalyptic Comedy.

A 2019 graduate of Hiram College, Holly Hoffman supports and encourages individuals throughout the college admission process, on the volleyball floor, and in life to reach their fullest potential and feel empowered to take on any challenge they face.
She played two seasons for the Terriers, serving as a captain both years. Holly was named First-Team All-NCAC her senior year, appearing in all 28 matches and 98 sets. In 2018, the Streetsboro native ranked in the top 15 in the Nation in assists per set, leading the conference in total aces (55), aces-per-set (.56), total assists (1047), and assists-per-set (10.68). She also ranked second on the team and top 10 in the conference in digs (352), tallying 20 double-doubles on the season, posting 30+ assists in 24 out of the 28 matches, and a career-high 60 assists in a 3-2 win over Wooster on Oct. 13.

In April 2021, Jenelle Bayus became the director of strategic marketing and media relations at Hiram College. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing long-term marketing, branding, and media relations strategies for the College, as well as working with various departments to provide branded support materials and services for both internal and external promotion. Prior to this position, Jenelle served as the public relations and communications manager for the College.
Jenelle is an alumna of the College, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication in 2016. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations from Kent State University. Kelly Adams was born in Trumbull County and has lived her whole life in Warren, Ohio. She is a graduate of Kent State University with a BA in Family and Consumer Studies. Kelly also has had continuing Education in CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) through Mercy Health. After graduating from Kent, Kelly worked in mental health for several years, including case management and service coordination through Trumbull County Help Me Grow, before entering into full-time student ministry for almost 14 years. Throughout that time, Kelly also served with Presbyterian Retirement Services as a hospice chaplain and as a chaplain intern at St. Joe's Hospital in Warren.
Kelly loves working in the Office of Admission and greeting new families as they come to see firsthand the amazing campus we have here at Hiram College. She has been in the Admission Office since November 2017. Her role in the office is to supervise student workers, plan and implement virtual visit opportunities, update website information as needed, and manage digital and collateral recruitment materials.

Marc Freeman has been in the position of Media Services Manager since 2009, and has worked in that department for over 20 years. He is responsible for the daily operations of the Media Center (located in the lower level of the Library), and providing campus-wide multimedia support, both traditional and digital. Marc also oversees the Center's Mac Lab and Studio, Large format and 3D printing, as well as provide consultation and training to faculty, staff, and students on the use and production of multimedia materials.
Born and raised in Ohio, Marc resides in Cleveland Heights. He is an avid sports enthusiast, likes to listen different styles of music (jazz in particular), and enjoys watching historical documentaries.

Michael Benedict is an ecologist with particular interests in landscape, forest, and wetland ecology. He is certified in geographic information systems (GIS) and has strong interest in applying mapping technologies and integrating multidisciplinary information to broad-scale issues and conservation. He teaches a variety of courses (such as Ecology, Humans & the Environment, GIS Applications, Landscape Ecology and Management, and Grant writing). Many of his courses and his research with students on forest ecology and watersheds at the James H. Barrow Biological Field Station emphasize developing practical skills. He is also actively engaged in science education initiatives and the use of technology in learning.
