NILECAPD

Nile Care Advocacy for Peace and Development (NILECAPD) is a non-profit organization led by the South Sudanese diaspora, focused on peace and development. Our goal is to bring lasting peace to South Sudan, and our core work in Canada is supporting members of the Calgary South Sudanese community who are experiencing homelessness to find the support they need to improve their wellbeing and self-sufficiency... NILECAPD was founded in 2014 after civil war broke out in South Sudan in 2013 and tribal violence threatened to spread to the refugees in Egypt. In 2018, NILECAPD received official recognition from South Sudan, followed by Alberta, Canada in 2019... We work to empower South Sudanese communities, and promote peace and justice through humanitarian work, advocacy, and sustainable community development.
